Export high quality activity photo with overlaid stats

How does one save the photo with overlaid stats that Strava generates when e.g. Sharing activity to Facebook?

Is it also possible to change the stats/title/description etc that get overlaid on there?

Hi Tim, this feature is available when sharing from our mobile app. At the moment, you can't change the selected statistics.

  • Thanks Elle. How do I export the image? When I do share it creates a link to the activity, which and some apps pick the activity image with overlay as the thumbnail. But how do I get the raw activity image/thumbnail directly?

  • Hi Tim,

a bit late, but maybe it still helps. Here's what I do: I share from the app, but chose to share vial "Email" (instead of facebook, whatsapp or whatever). Then I can send a mail to myself, and the picture will be attached as an image file. Mine are usually 1200x675 px in size, that's high enough quality for most purposes.

  • Just an additional bit of info.  The share icon for an activity won't appear if your activity status is set to Private.  It is possible to temporarily make that activity public, share to email or wherever; then make Private again should you wish.

  • Hi

I know this is an old post, but I would like to confirm. Does the photo export only work for ride and run. I don't get the option to select photo on Swim and other activities, I only have the option on run and ride.

  • I am joining to Mongi's question. I can not export image with stats inside Android app if it is swim activity manually created!

  • Quick how to: click the activity, edit, then upload images. Add your image and then go back to your main profile. Select the activity and click share — choose more options and then you can either a) text yourself the photo or b) on iPhone choose “save image”. Hope this helps!
