  • I'm totally OK with it but confised. Normally when I'm sponsored the sponsor pays for some of the cost of my biking. Ive done thousands of miles of wahoo sponsored cycling this year but have yet to receive a check from them.

  • Had to turn adblock on and manually go and block these ridiculous promos.

I pay for this product. Stop marketing to me.

  • Disgusting conduct. Friends paying for a service + device only to be forced to advertise it. Disabled all partner integrations and will never buy a wahoo device.

Bright blue banner what a joke!

  • Dear Strava,

I am a paying customer. Pls explain why I have to watch Wahoo advertisments in my feed? I am not a Wahoo user and surely never will be as my followers will be bored with their ads in their feed.

Somehow this thread goes back a year! Why aren't you listening to your customers?

  • It is very simple to turn off feature.  Click on sponsored in one of your ride history on desktop then click turn off sponsor integrations.  Your Wahoo will still be connected but the ad message will be removed.

  • It is annoying but I did buy mine because I saw the banner on my friends Strava feed.

  • Why do I need to have this show up on every single ride feed.  It looks rookie and is tuning me off these good products. I'd like to be able to turn this off.  Please respect your customers privacy.

  • I am fed up of Wahoo Ads as well, I am a premium (or whatever you call it now) paid up member, Strava must be the only website that still shows adverts when you are a paid subscriber, it is putting me off Strava, add Wahoo to partner integrations so I can switch them off or remove them for paid subscribers, it’s shocking what you are doing

  • It sure would be nice if Strava could update their official reply with the instructions on how to disable partner integrations. I saw the usual "thanks for your feedback, we care, blah blah" boilerplate crap and opened a ticket with Wahoo to complain to them as my experience with complaining to Strava support over stuff like this hasn't been great. Figured maybe complaining to Wahoo might help... then I read through the comments and saw that this can actually be disabled now with the Partner Integrations in settings. Got a reply from Wahoo pretty quickly saying the same thing, so I've disabled it, so I'm no longer a walking (errr, cycling) Wahoo ad.

Was just about ready to disable the Strava auto-upload and handle it myself to get around the ads, too... I couldn't vote with my $$ over this as I've already cancelled my premium membership for the inability to filter out Zwift and other fake rides from my feed, so I couldn't re-quit. 🤣

To summarize if anyone has missed it, you can now disable this Wahoo ad crap.

    • On the website, go to Partner Integrations and click disable.
    • On mobile, make sure your app is up to date, then choose Settings and look for Partner Integrations. Find Wahoo and click Disable.

There sure musta been some serious backlash over this one!

  • Wahoo isn’t listed for me, only Zwift, it’s not so bad on the website (but still horrible.... Andy rode with Wahoo honestly!!! It’s horrible) , but the App it’s terrible, really in your face splashed all over the screen, I understand that Strava need to make money and Wahoo are paying for this, but the internet works like this... when the service is free you get advertising, when you pay you don’t... Strava seem to be greedy and want it both ways, as a summit member I shouldn’t get these ads

  • This is absolutelly annoying. I pay for a premium account and can’t opt out on advertising?! This looks like you want to monetize me in any way possible. It is that Strava does its core feature ok. Otherwise I would be gone.

  • Thank you Chris! Sometimes checking an entire necro'd thread is worth it :D

As for Wahoo... I will strongly consider this next time I'm in the market for a new computer.

  • I’m sure you all though about the big bill boards you are riding (Trek, Giant, Cannondale, Oakley, Rapha, SRAM, Zipp, ENVE, Shimano, Giro, Bontrager, Continental)? Give it a rest. Do you get upset with YouTube when it shows a commercial mid-video? How about commercials on TV? How about the billboards at NBA games? It’s how companies monetize their brand. But you know what the cool part about Strava is that you can opt out of partner apps...it’s that simple. Not one of you who threatened to leave Strava ever will because at the end of the day “if it’s not on Strava...it still never happened”. So every, go ride more, complain less.

  • Good grief. I bought my wife a Bolt and this irritating message started appearing. I had to read through piles of annoyed posts from others  to find out how to remove it. Strava and Wahoo should realise that there are a lot of us who never want to touch any of the settings following initial set-up. I don't care that it is a simple task, I just never want to adjust settings ever, (unless I change sex).

  • Derek L... I’ve cancelled my Strava summit membership due to this advertising and the banning of ReLive, I cannot switch off the Wahoo advertising as it isn’t listed only Zwift, also when you pay premium membership on YouTube YOU DON’T GET AD’s, great argument

  • Mike...lol You’re still riding around on your bike with Specialized in BIG block letters on the down tube....I think that right there is the definition of irony. It’s your hard earned $60.00 annually. You choose how to spend it.

  • Derek L. Don't you have something better to do that troll people on a customer support forum?

    Get a life.

  • Gabes...not trolling anyone...because I don’t agree with your reasoning? I’m just responding to Mike and his comment, and now yours....and pointing out the obvious. Everyone complaining  here are essentially walking billboards for all these companies, but are upset by a little “Wahoo” advert appearing on your Strava feed. An advert that you can make disappear no doubt...

  • Derek, I cannot switch off the advert, Strava clearly have some algorithm to decide which partner integrations you can switch off or not, I suspect if you use the manufacturers device you can switch it off, for example I can switch of Zwift, but not Wahoo, the internet works pretty much like this... when its free it is paid for by adverts, when you subscribe the adverts disappear (YouTube and Spotify for example), it is a shame that when you were not riding your bike you decided to give your view on a forum that dislikes adverts, perhaps you should take your own advice and ride your bike and not spend time on forums you disagree with, obviously you cannot see the irony in your comment, after all you are complaining about people complaining.

  • Has Strava made an option to opt out of Wahoo marking on my rides?

  • I hate this 'feature' and have cancelled my premium primarily because of it. I am not sponsored by Wahoo and I do not want this on my feed.

What pisses me off more is that the Wahoo activity now overwrites my Garmin 935 activity, so I lose all my heartrate and other data from my Garmin. It used to upload both activities and I could choose which one to keep or delete. Now its all Wahoo

Very poor by Strava that this cannot be managed
