Watch is great for runs at the same pace, but horrible for timing workouts. Should be able to plan a workout in advance and have the watch guide you through each part

Should be able to plan a workout in advance and have the watch guide you through each part

This would include, for example, a workout broken up into segments by time or by distance

Workout definition:

1. 1 mile warm up

2. 1 mile split

3. 2 minutes rest

4. 1 mile split

5. 2 minutes rest

6. 1 mile cooldown

When you start the workout, just display a notification that says (1 mile warmup).

After you hit a distance of 1 mile, it should announce the time and pause the run.

Then, display a menu that has options "1. Next repeat, 2. Jump to cooldown, 3. Finish run"

It should repeat until the workout is finished, at which time normal Strava functionality should resume.

Configuration could be based on distance or on time.

  • What watch are you referring to? My Garmin Forerunner (and dozens of other fitness watches) have this functionality, as it is one of the most basic requirements of a fitness watch.

  • I think you're getting confused between strava and your watch.

You can do everything you describe on a Garmin watch, maybe look to buy one of these?

  • If you are using an iPhone/Apple Watch I use Intervals Pro to setup workouts like this. But then I have to use the HealthFit to sync to Strava. They both work really well, but it is a shame that Strava doesn't have a feature like this, especially when I use their training programs that specify interval workouts, but have no real link to the app.
