Riders mistakenly select “run” and occupy top 10

Hi Strava, The feature of competing against one another and trying to have the best running time for a particular segment is super motivating. On the other hand, seeing “impossible times” ahead of you is really frustrating. What happens is that manu riders, mistakenly, save their training as a “run” although they were obviously on a bike. For each segment, you could set up thresholds, saying for instance: on that segment, it is not humanly possible to run at say more than 22kmh, considering it’s uphill. Or at least set up limits of 30 or 35kmh for segments superiors to 800 meters. So that you can spot false data and edit it (send a push to the rider and kindly ask him to edit, or force edit). I would really appreciate:) Yesterday a guy running 30kmh just beat my time on a technical downhill. I was impressed!:) and then saw that his top speed that day was 65kmh. Cheers! Nicolas

  • You can just flag the activity and it will be removed from the segment leaderboards.

  • I flagged an activity and the next day had a dozen of my legitimate activities flagged, presumably by the ebike cheating user. The flagging system is not fit for purpose now that leader boards are a leading reason why people pay for Summit.
