Suunto Movescount and Strava

You can automatically upload your activities to Strava from Movescount or the Suunto app for select devices.

  1. In Movescount settings click “Connect with Strava” and log into Strava. If you do not have a Strava account, register first.
  2. You can select to sync all of your Moves, only rides or only runs with Strava. You also have an option to turn syncing off.
  3. After the next Movescount sync, your new Moves will be automatically transferred to Strava.
  4. Only new activities will sync to Strava automatically. Activities without GPS data and any lap data will not sync.

Occasionally, we experience temporary outages or delays in the syncing service between Movescount and Strava. Remember, activities without GPS data will not sync to Strava at this time. In the event that your Suunto activity is not synced from Movescount to Strava, you may be able to manually import your activities to Strava by following these steps:

  1. After you sync your watch go to "My Moves" in Movescount.
  2. Click on the icon showing the Move you want to export in the calendar on the right so it loads that Move on the left panel.
  3. Click on Tools in the upper right-hand corner and choose the format you'd like to export the Move in. Only .TCX, .GPX, and .FIT files can be uploaded to Strava.
  4. Save it to your desktop and then log in to Strava and click Upload Activity in the upper right. Select the file you just saved for upload.

  • Same here, last successful sync was March 17th. Half marathon race data today did not sync to Strava, so I deleted it in Movescount and tried to re-sync. Now I discover that deleted moves cannot be re-synced without some modification to the system files. My Ambit3 is also due a firmware update that will delete all the logbook files on the watch so at the moment I have no way of retrieving my race data, never mind getting it on Strava. Annoying doesn't cover it.

  • Same problem as the rest of the users here. My moves were uploading flawlessly into Strava for months and then since March 18, they stopped. I had the latest movescount for a week and moves were uploading fine until the weekend. What's going on with Suunto or Strava?

  • Hello, since 3 days now my activities from movescount are not automatically synced on strava after months without any problems... Anyone facing the same problem?

  • Mines not syncing as well since yesterday March 18th and there's not an update available yet. I even been checking even Uninstalled the app.

  • I've just started experiencing problems synching from Movescount to Strava; actually I haven't been able to upload anything since last Friday. Anyone else? Is there a patch or solution?

  • Auto-sync from Movescount to Strava broken since middle of last week. My latest moves are not visible on Strava.

What to do in such a case? Is there a manual placeholder? Does that help to disconnect and reconnect Strava on the Movescount platform?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I have the same problem as Heather Foley. Months of trouble free syncing to Strava until Saturday (18 March) and now it will not work. I use a Suunto Ambit 2. Is there a fix to this problem?

  • Is anyone else having issues with syncing from Movescount to Strava? I've had the accounts linked for months without any issues, but since Saturday nothing is syncing at all.

  • From last week, sync is not working anymore between Strava and my Suunto movescount. I am forced to do it manually. It worked very well before. What's the issue ?

  • Hello,

I bought a new Suunto Amit 3 Peak and followed the instructions to connect my strava account to movescount.
I first updated the watch with moveslink, so I got the newest updates.
I paired my watch withe the Movescout app (android cellphone) and did all the things that has been described.
The app and the watch work fine together and they are connected. I made sure that the settings on movescount are right ("transfer all the files to strava).
I disconnected the strava acount on movescount and connected it again.
    Nothing seems to work.
I read all the infos at this forum about ist but nothing fixed it for me.
I would be really thankful for any help.

    Thank you
    Boris

  • Same issue, not syncing from Movescount. However, Training Peaks does sync so I guess it's a Strava issue.

  • Hi everyone,

Suunto/Movescount syncing was temporarily down over the weekend, but they've fixed the issue and will be pushing all failed activities over to Strava over the course of the day. Please see the following link for updates on the known issue. https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000251724-Suunto-Movescount-stopped-syncing-to-Strava

    Thanks for your patience!
