Strava on Windows phones

Strava does not offer an App for Windows Phones or Windows 10 and unfortunately, we do we have plans to support this operating system in the future. However, there are a handful of options or workarounds recommended by our community so that you can still post your GPS data to Strava:

  1. CycloMeter App: From the CycloMeter App, there is a plugin that can be purchased for a small amount to allow data to be automatically published to Strava.
  2. Cycle Tracks GPS: Similarly, publishing data to Strava from this app is a one-time add-on purchase.
  3. Run the Map
  4. Run.GPS
  5. Cyclers app for Windows phones

  • There are some very good points in this tread and i think the biggest point is all sport should unifying, enjoyed, and with out boundary. Although i agree Strava should look into an app and in this day and age this in really not a massive investment. I think anyone will recognize that there is a historic problem with little company's running with the big dogs and not wanting to be out of favor. Google are renowned for buy up good small tech company or helping out.  If this is the problem i am sure Google would love to put an Google maps based app on a Bill Gates love child. I know this is silly but most of us are on contact phones and to be honest i am just going to get a new phone, contract is up and vote no on a poor product.

  • Garmin now do a Windows 10 Universal App. Admitted it doesn't work pairing bluetooth, but then neither did the Android app. I think it's more a fault with the Garmin devices than the app though.

  • Vote for STRAVA on W10. And for all other app that you want to see on W10. (First you need to sign up but it's very quickly)

  • with al your respect Elle Anderson (strava support) and Michele C. but not al users are programmers

i understand that strava focuses on the bigest market but it's sad that they don't have the balls to say it this way

it is not respectfull to your customers to let them use other apps and let them manualy download and upload tracks to the platform of strava

what reason whould a WP user have to get a STRAVA PREMIUM account ???

i suppose strava is in it for the dollars ?!?!

you have a great platform !

please threat all of your customers the same !

  • I had the same problem with the incorrect start time prior to Nov 2014, when the error would always be a whole number of hours. Since then it has been correct. As for large errors in total time, no, I only seem to have small errors ranging from a few seconds to at most a few minutes and almost invariably Strava is longer, so average speed is lower than actual by a point or two. I assume it is not picking up on stationary periods in the same way that Sports Tracker does. As well as the phone I use a standard speedo that measures only actual moving time so I have a comparison. There is always a difference in time between the two (the speedo being shorter) but again it doesn't seem to be by much.

  • +1 Universal Windows Platform App - as you know, it's not only about the phone but tablet and desktop as well.

  • I'm also hoping Strava makes a windows phone app. If not I will avoid paying for premium. I've been windows phone user for over 3 years now. I also support ios and android at work, but for my personal phone, win phone 7/8/8.1 have been much better. This is the only app I use on my work iPhone... but soon I'll dump that and just use other services on the winphone. Sad you haven't spun up a team to port your app to winphone.

  • @Denis

This happened me yesterday for the first time ever. The first half of my ride was there... plus the very last co-ordinate! Which seems very strange if the app did that. It feels like loads of the co-ordinates have been stripped out. It was fine for my friend though, also using Straza Mate. I haven't got any messages on fb so you've got the wrong David. I'll make some enquires. Email strazamate@outlook.com if you want a further chat...

  • +1 here for a native Windows Phone Strava app.

I have been using TripMeter but uploading to Strava is a multi-step process and a bit of a pain. Stravo has been withdrawn for some reason but may still be able to be side loaded.

I'll check out the apps mentioned by Elle above but would much prefer a proper Strava app.

  • How can you ignore so many of your users requests for a Windows Phone app? People don't want a workaround and your creation of this post assumes they only use Strava mobile to record and upload data. Clearly that's so far from the truth otherwise you wouldn't continue to invest in developing the app with additional features for other platforms. Listen to your users, listen to your paying customers...this is what they want!!

  • Another vote for a WP version of the Strava app please! I am sure that if you provided this app the Windows Phone community would promote the hell out of the app and your great service.

    Food for thought.

  • Maybe we are all missing the point. Strava refuses to support windows phone, why should windows phone users support Strava. Instead of finding ways to work with Strava, Windows Phone users should rather find alternatives. The picture is bigger than Windows Phone users, it includes friends and family of Windows phone users who wish to interact with windows phone users. If windows phone users find alternatives, and their friends and families start using those alternatives too, Do I need to say more.

  • Any progress on Strava issuing a Windows 10 App? Seems crazy this still has not been sorted. Getting new phone in next week and will have to leave Strava if no app!

  • Oooo Thanks Old bloke.
I found gmail and fb profile but Developer Kleber Alves did not reply, I do not know why it is.
    Very strange.
Obviously that does not work to win 8.1.
As you have written it, there is no even in the shop. Too bad.
It was the best application for Strava on the Win Phones.
So if someone looks at developers, he can know what he needs to do to us.

  • Has anyone tried Striver? I just installed it but didn't realise that it requires an in-app purchase to be able to upload to Strava. Is it worth purchasing?

  • Striver keep getting updated with new features, although I just need the basics and it works quite well.  The Strava folks could simply license one of the third party apps and everyone would be happy.  :)

  • Try Fitbit on your Windows 10 phone. Then you can link your Strava from your Strava website with Fitbit and your Fitbit recorded activities automatically sync with Strava. You might even consider leaving Strava and rely totally on Fitbit. It has a very comprehensive data set: Sleep patterns, food intake, water intake, weight recording with Fitbit Aria, and heartbeat together with your activity recorded by a Fitbit wearable. You actually don't need Strava if you are on Fitbit, and you can leave Strava unless you have a compelling reason to have your Fitbit workouts recorded to Strava.

  • Robin, have you looked at Endomondo? They have a pretty good app for WP and their premium is cheaper than Strava. I'm mainly staying with Strava because other local riders use it but I certainly don't intend to pay for premium while ever Strava refuse to support WP.

  • Another vote for a Strava universal app for Windows 10, the platform is just crying out for it especially if you have a Microsoft Band 2 etc, would love to be able to review everything on my surface rather than visiting the web page.  Cyclers is a good alternative at the moment but I hate having to carry work phone at the weekend just so I can use the native android app though.  Would much rather have everything on my 950 xl.

  • It's a shame that Strava don't make a windows phone app!!

I'm using run the map and uploading .gpx at home, but it's nonsense that there isn't an official app for wp!!

  • Thanks for the question G.! We're working on other developments with both the website and mobile currently, I think would be the best explanation. Our product team certainly has their work cut out for them with prioritizing all the cool stuff we hope to do at Strava! Thanks again for your patience and feedback.
