Easily Search My Past Activities

Often, I want to look back at an older activity (in my case, bike rides) to help plan a future ride or remember how I linked one section of a route with another. Right now, I just have to endlessly scroll backwards on the website or app. With several years of rides logged on Strava, this is quite frustrating.

I would like the ability to quickly and easily search my activities by the title of the activity. I always title my activities and can remember at least one word in the title like "Trail Ridge Road" or "Taco Tuesday" etc.

  • Yes! The last one is what I'm looking for. Did not know I could see my activities as a list like this. Thanks!

  • FYI, I had trouble with the search only returning results where the first word of the Title matched.  Any word later in the title was not found.

There is currently a bug - acknowledged by Strava July 31, 2018... see below:

    Activity Search Producing Incomplete Results

We are investigating an issue that's causing incomplete search results and the inability to filter by run or ride type on the My Activities page. You may notice that your keyword searches do not yield a complete list of activities containing the keyword and choosing a run or ride type does not filter the search results at all.

Unfortunately, we do not have a timeline for when this issue will be resolved and we apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Meg,

Thanks for the update. Would love to get these issues resolved as I often want to search my past activities and can remember at least part of what I named the activity.

  • March 23, 2019.

I was coming here to check the exact same thing when the matched runs didn't yield any results despite having run that area multiple times.

  • Okay umm, it wasn't working a second ago. Is the issue resolved now or only partially because I still can't find some runs?

  • Broken. Incredibly broken. Still. Strava backend architecture must be a complete mess if a simple keyword search takes years to get right.

  • Is it possible to search for the title of someone else's ride? A friend has done a big ride and I want to find the route, and I can remember the title.

  • You can only search your own activities AFAIK.
If they are your friend I am sure they will extract the GPX file for you :O)

I use Garmin Connect to auto populate Strava, and find it's Advanced Search under Activities really useful as I work mainly in distances and dates, so unless you have changed the title in GC the "search" is pretty useless in that regard. But searching for rides between 99 and 105 gets my training tons.

One really cool feature is that you can export everything to a CSV file for further analysis of the data.
Unfortunately I do have to tediously keep scrolling down the list of activities until I get to the bottom of the data I want as it only exports from the top of the current list as far as you have scrolled down.  Small price to pay to get the data into something you can analyse :O)
