Turn off challenges and competitions in activity feed

I'm generally not interested in the Strava challenges and competitions that people join.  However, with the apparent proliferation of challenges, and many people joining each, recently these have come to dominate my feed.

I would appreciate the ability to turn these off, so that all I see are people's activities.

  • In the past the challenge deluge was usually limited to around the start of the month, but now it seems that most challenges are being reported as being completed by all participants every day. The result is a deluge of junk every day that can't be filtered. )-:

  • There are a few threads now asking for challenges to be hidden, along with commutes, trainer rides, who to follow and all the other spam that we have to deal with these days.

  • Numerous similar threads - yes.  Any action - no.  Volume of identical requests obviously doesn't raise the priority..  come on Strava - this is really pointless and takes up loads of screen real estate..

  • Yes please! +1 for this. I have to scroll through pages of "person x has joined" updates. Super annoying as I also don't mind much for challenges.

  • Another one in agreement for being able filter out challenge acceptance notices.

Maybe Strava is trying to filter out all of the people who wish this would change.

Definitely an item that prevents my possible consideration for premium account.

  • Its getting worse, rides are not even shown in chronological order of when they were ridden. This has now changed to when they are uploaded, makes finding rides a lot more difficult as not all my friends upload straight away!

  • Another vote for this missing feature. We need more control over our feeds. The challenge posts are obtrusively implemented where actual ACTIVITIES are supposed to be - especially at the beginning of the month, and when a single challenge spams the feed with several updates for a single ride.

If you use Chrome, I’d highly recommend the Elevate extension as a workaround. No help for the app though.

  • I think it is disrespectful to PAYING users for Strava to push unsolicited adverts for challenges, activities and other garbage in the dashboard feed.

Summit users should be allowed to OPT IN, not have no option to opt out!

All I am interested in is a feed of rides I do and by those I specifically follow.

Strava risks losing loyal customers to rival web sites if it does not listen to its users.

Elevate helps a lot but some junk still slips through.
