  • Any update on supporting Xiaomi's Band 2? It would be great to visualize my heart rate and all of the other parameters of my runs in one app!

  • when new update with mi band 2 will be released?

i'm new to strava, but i can't use my mi band 2 (HR) sensors. in apps, if i tap on shop on sensors, it would only show one paticular brand. hmmm...

anyway.. would be great if you update the progress on this issue.

    Thanks!

  • Dear Strava support,

I have just ordered a Mi Band 2, by the time it arrives I which that the compatibility issue is resolved.

If not I just move to another track App.

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

  • Hi,

I have been thinking about this for a while now. Maybe there is some expectation in Strava that Xiaomi standarizes the way the Mi Band interacts instead of having to support each product in a different way (Strava cannot write code to support 1000 non-standard products)... :)

However, if neither Strava nor Xiaomi decide to change something in their code basis, the Mi Band will most likely not work with Strava...

So, why not go another approach? Almost every user can sync the Mi Band HR Data to Google Fit, and Strava already syncs with Google Fit. So, at least on this aspect, the full path is already there... So why not make the Google Fit syncing smarter? Something like: if the activity has HR Data on Strava, upload to Google Fit (assuming Cheststrap is more accurate than any Fitness Tracker), or if Strava has no Data and Google Fit has Data for the period, just download it and let Strava use it.

Such a pattern would not allow people to have live HR tracking from Strava (I could set zone alarms from another app that supports the MiBand), but allow to use the HR Data afterwards in Strava, thus making the premium membership attractive again for people who do not have a dedicated HR sensor...

Who knows, maybe some people might buy a better sensor after getting used to having the data available... :)

  • Hi!

I've been using Strava for a few weeks now.
And I recently bought a Xiaomi Mi Band 2.

I can't how disappointed I am that I can't use it with the app!

Therefore, I now use MiFit app, which is also great, minus the social aspect of Strava.
Could you please update the app so that I can use it again ?

    Thanks!

    Maxime.

  • Adding my voice to Mi Band 2 support - disappointing that this thread has been going on for over a year with little reply from Strava team - will start looking at other apps which I do know support Mi Band.
