Strava refuses to let me change my weight

No matter how many times I change my weight, on both the iphone app and the website, strava reverts it back to my original weight.

I don't weigh that much anymore and now all the calorie counts are inaccurate.

Not sure if anyone else faces this problem?

Thanks

  • Same here I change my weight, and my 5k race time,I save it...later it changes back to what it was, very annoying because the race time mucks with your pace zones.   Has anyone figured this out?   Garmin says my correct weight so it isn't getting it from garmin connect.

  • OK this seemed to work for me but it is quite ridiculous, this is a bug in the mobile app if you ask me...

I deleted the mobile app from my phone because I noticed every time I opened it the change would happen on my Strava account (website).

I changed my weight in my profile on the Strava account (website) along with my 5k race time.

I RE-INSTALLED the mobile app on my phone and when I opened it I noticed my weight and race time were now correct.   I went back an check website and I appear to be good to go.

Worked for me, your mileage may vary.

  • I think this is a bug, after changing the weight (or birthdate) in the app is NOT saving it well (only for a few seconds). On the Strava website it is right saving no problem, but the weight information of the app is leading for my saved runs. Is deleting/reinstalling the (iOS) app is the only solution?

Is the helpdesk of Strava reading this forum for advising of fixing the bug?

  • I had the same problem on my iPhone.

The helpdesk did help me out a few hours after sending my message.

Switching OFF two Strava options in the Apple Health app did work (weight and birthdate).
I didn't know (forgot) this Health app was on my iPhone ('Gezondheid' in Dutch).

  • Just to add to this. I changed my weight in the Health app (never used), and everything is sweet. So far. I thought I was going crazy, so I am glad that others were sharing my problem. Cheers

  • Ok hopefully all you guys have figured it out by now (on our own at least) that Apple Health app is the culprit.. well sort of.. so when you fix Apple Health app, you basically wont have a problem anymore. I only wish Apple and Strava had sorted out this conflict to begin with.

  • Thanks, updating my weight in the Health app fixed as well.  Apparently Strava is pulling our weight from Health.  Thanks all!!

  • Yes, if you don't allow Health to share data with Strava then it won't keep over-writing your weight in the Strava app.

  • I checked my apple helth app and it is set not to share data with strava could garmin connect or similar also be causing this?

  • It's not just an Apple health problem. I have an android and am having exactly the same issue.

Strava - you need to fix this pronto.

  • Changing my weight in the Apple Health App fixed it for me

  • So the Strava app will pull weight data from the Health app but the Health app doesn't pull cycling distance from the Strava app? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • It's now February 2018 and the inaccurate weight problem is still there!!!!
I'm an Android user so the Apple Health app fix is not an option.
    Get it bloody fixed !!!!!!!

  • I had the same problem on Android. It was the connected Google Fit app. I changed my weight in Google Fit and it updates in Strava.

  • 9/10 issues here is with the connected app to Strava. I had simeral issue with a Samsung Galaxy phone and here it was Samsung Health app that kept overwriting the weight.

So people check your Apple Health, Google Fit, Samsng Health or any 3rd party app connected to Strava, usually via the mobile phone.
