Syncronize with mywellness from Technogym

Are there plans for make Strava syncronize with Technogyms mywellness application? Mywellness logs activities from treadmill and indoor bikes. It would be great if this data could be exported from mywellness to Strava?

  • There appears to be an option in My Wellness>Settings>Linked Account to sync with Strava but so fare non of my workouts are syncing.

  • It seems that the "Linked Account" option on My Wellness only syncs from Strava to My Wellness, and not the way around.

  • I've been looking for how to do this, but it seems that mywellness only pulls data from strava and can't send it.  If I could send the power data from the technogym bikes at work to Strava I would definitely be going back to premium.

  • rather annoying that I recorded a run yesterday using MYWELLNESS thinking it would sync to STRAVA but clearly doesn't work. I also find the FITBIT sync very hit and miss, before I start any form of exercise these days it feels like I'm having to start 3 different apps to record!

  • You guys are barking up the wrong tree. Mywellness is a closed system, it will import data from Strava and others but it will NOT export YOUR data to Strava or any other platform.

If you want to upload your treadmill run data into Strava, use a sports watch or your smart phone.  Mywellness will not do it for you by design. (which begs the question what it is for in the first place....)

  • @ Steven V  I think the reason for the idea is that the TechnoGym equipment that is common in a lot of gyms records potentially useful data, most usefully power.  For people with power meters this would be a great training tool.

I do agree though that mywellness is a very one way system that (by design?) doesn't use any industry standard data formats to retain 'customers' who have probably not chosen the service but instead have to use whatever their local gym equipment has.

  • Hello everybody,

I think Steven is right. We need to contact Technogym to obtain what we want.

I leave in EU, since General Data Protection Regulation is in place we should be able to transfer our data from one app to another. Link to the GDPR article concerning data portability: https://gdpr-info.eu/art-20-gdpr/

I asked Technogym how I could achieve that. I contacted them on Facebook messenger. Upon my first contact their answer was really short and kind of rude. They told me it was not possible and it was not a development they were planning on doing. I insisted and explained them they had to do it because of GDPR.

    This is what they answered:

    “Hello Victor,

The best option would be to connect your Strava account to MyWellness Cloud, in order to have all your data in MyWellness App. You can do this from the setting of MyWellness App.

As regards exporting your data, you can do that from www.mywellness.com, "settings", "account setting”, we hope other sites will let you import our data.

    Thank you for your message.

    Technogym team”

The file you transfer is a “.json” file that contains aggregated summary of all your activity (average, max, distance etc.), but it does not contain the detailed data of the moves (see sample at the end of this message).

I haven’t figured out how to import this file into Stava yet. I also asked Technogym to give me the detailed data. I am still waiting for answer.

Maybe Technogym will address the problem seriously if we all ask them to transfer our data to Strava?

  • I use power meters on my bikes, my bike trainer has power and so has my rowing machine. I was looking for a new treadmill and would love to have one with power. That is why I took a look at Technogym/ Mywellness. I quickly came to the conclusion that it is useless to have a treadmill that can provide power readings if you cannot get the data out to Strava, TrainingPeaks and the likes. I started using Stryd and this gives me power readings for my runs, treadmill and outdoors.

Researching Mywellness I stumbled upon this tread and noticed that a lot of people have the same wish but think that Strava needs somehow to take action. I shared my finding that Mywellness is a closed (one-way) system.

In my opinion, treadmills seem to be ages behind the bike trainers, but that is another story....

  • I was browsin through Strava's website and came across the following link https://blog.strava.com/gym-studio-sync/. Here it suggests that at least one of the Technogym machines can synchronize with Strava, why not all? Would be really useful if someone from Strava themselves can shed their light on this and tell us whether it's at all possible, or that Technogym/MyWelness needs to do something (which we can then subsequently push with MyWelness).

  • Hello folks. I'm a long-time Strava user new to Technogym (my gym just brought in a bunch of new Technogym equipment).  I signed up for MyWellness, and under "Linked Accounts" I was able to connect to Strava and Garmin Connect.  So far so good.

Over the past week have recorded a few bike and treadmill workouts on the Technogym equipment. Everything uploaded to MyWellness fine.  The bike workouts synced automatically with Strava -- so that should make some of you happy.  HOWEVER the treadmill workouts did NOT show up in Strava.  Perhaps MyWellness thinks Strava is only for cyclists?  Nothing shows up in Garmin Connect.

  • @ George Ross: so you say the data recorded on the bike with Technogym is exported to Strava and shows up there as well ? if so, which type of bike is it ? here it does NOT work so with the spinning bikes (exact type unknown)
