Syncronize with mywellness from Technogym

Are there plans for make Strava syncronize with Technogyms mywellness application? Mywellness logs activities from treadmill and indoor bikes. It would be great if this data could be exported from mywellness to Strava?

  • That's correct, Frank.  It's a Technogym Skillbike.  As I said, it's brand new.

  • https://www.technogym.com/us/group-cycle-connect.html also transmits data on ANT , I connect my Garmin watch and get speed/distance/power/cadence which goes to Garmin connect and via that to Strava

  • I'm currently working on an app to parse the JSON data from a mywellness data dump and upload it to Garmin Connect activities. As others have said the data dump does not include all of "your" data points

  • To extract and convert workouts on your mywellness.com account you can use this program I've developed. The resulting file can be uploaded to strava.

My gym has the Group cycle connect bikes.

Currently it's a jar file but I plan on making a browser version.

  • @George Ross  - are you synching via iphone IOS app?  I'm using the Android version on my Samsung S9 and unable to, so far, synch my skillsbike sessions.  It would be good to know which you are using so I can attempt to isolate the issue. I;ve synched to Garmin Connect and Strava fine in the app.

Also are you scanning the QR code or just connecting by placing your phone on the pad and connecting that way?

    Thanks in advance :)

  • I find my runs from Technogym MyRun get uploaded to strava but I’m sure where where it’s linking to stravabfrom. It has its own iPad app so maybe it’s unique

Mywellness closed system is very annoying as I like to keep my workouts (when travelling) in one place. Strava. Their crappy attempt at competing my closing their ecosystem is simply awful.

At the very least their new stuff should transmit power / speed etc via ANT+.

    Very poor Technogym....

  • I think I have a working browser version now.

Follow the readme for how to get the raw data (https://github.com/alsterman/wellness2tcx).

Then use this webpage to convert the data https://alsterman.github.io/wellness2tcx-cljs/

  • Thanks Marcus, tried web version yesterday. Field for data input is not very responsive (it took some time to post my data there), but overall it worked so great job, and thank you again!

  • @Marcus A - thanks for this - I seem to be having trouble with the web version. Am able to pull the raw data and copy it to my clipboard, but when pasted into the web tool, clicking the ‘convert to TCX’ button doesn’t seem to do anything. Have tried it with Chrome on both Windows 7 and MacOS - any thoughts?

Hey! Open an issue on https://github.com/alsterman/wellness2tcx-cljs
Please attach the "raw data" that you got from the mywellness website.

This is something I do on my free time. Might take a look one day.

  • I am finding Marcus method of converting the file very difficult. Is there any possibility you could do a video tutorial? Many thanks.

  • surely if you wear a HRM when you do your workouts you could just have that data go to gramin connect / strava

call it hr data workout 1 , hr data workout 2 . or 2000 row etc.

I know its not perfect but its one way that would work at least for hr data

  • Hi - I have just joined a gym which has Technogym bikes and Technogym running machines.  I have tried "searching" using bluetooth  - but nothing responds to my Garmin 735 watch to link to.  I have tried linking "mywellness" app to Garmin and to Strava but the connection is only one way back to mywellness app.  The problem I have with "my wellness" is it does not show data like Garmin or Strava.  At the moment the Technogym "mywellness" app feels very naive based around "moves" rather than calories or watts, or HR or distance etc.  Please can Strava make mywelless produce data the other way from mywellness to Strava (like with the Keiser app as an example)

  • Many thanks Marcus A. I was able to create a tcx file using the browser app.  For any people still struggling - I found that it uploaded to Strava fine but errored when uploading to Training Peaks or Garmin Connect.  However I managed to upload and re-generate the tcx here: https://gotoes.org/strava/Add_Timestamps_To_GPX.php (the timestamps feature wasn't important but it allowed me to generate a new tcx file).  After everything, some of the data was weird (distance and HR data) but power data was fine.

  • I still expect Strava/Mywellness to get an seamless syncronization. I don't know if it's Strava or Mywellness or both that are making this difficult. But I really hope they speak together and makes this possible anytime soon. It would be a win-win for both Strava and Technogym!

  • Technogym "mywellnes? App is not great and super frustrating that it doesn't sync its workouts with Strava/garmin connect... given it can import from 3rd party apps surely the ability to export, manually or automatically should be easy.

  • Hello martin brook,

I own a Technogym Group Cycle Connect as well. However I was unable to connect the sensors via ANT+ to my Garmin Edge 510 so far. How did you do this? When I try to add sensor it simply sais it cannot find any (bike is powered).

I bought the Technogym Group Cycle Connect 2nd hand from a gym and it is still configurated to their network. So I can't get any data out via Mywellness, they told me a Technogym mechanic needs to come by to configure it to my network... I think I could configure this myself via their "Technogym Equipment Setup" app, but you need an account/password which they don't give me so far.

So getting the data out via ANT+ would be a great solution. I'm thinking about buying a ANT+ dongle for my laptop and run Zwift on my laptop. But I would like to check if it's really transmitting ANT+.
