Sync from Strava to Garmin Connect

I  can only seem to push from Garmin to Strava. What I want is to use the app to record runs when I have no Garmin device and push to Garmin Connect. Then I can have my data in both platforms. Is that possible?

In my Garmin Connect account settings I see that Strava can only read. Is that correct?

  • Tapiriik works great, and syncs seamlessly over most fitness sites.  I've been using it for 3 years now.  Simple set-up, with automatic syncing, and all for a massive $2/year.

  • Add me to long list requesting Strava to Garmin sync.

oh yeah while we are at it. how's the ever growing request for an option for either permenant elevation auto correction or selection via the Strava app coming along?

  • I've been frustrated by how Strava has an option to auto-import activities from Garmin Connect, but I've noticed that for me, only runs, walks, and bike rides are being imported. Other types of activities are not being imported. By contrast, every activity gets exported from Garmin Connect to MapMyRide (although sometimes the type of the activity gets changed to "generic" in MapMyRide, but that's a different story). So far, using Tapiriik has made no difference in what appears in Strava.

  • +1 please
But since this was raised not months, but years ago, I suspect Strava are not, on this occasion, listening to their users.
Shame, unhappy users have a tendency to become ex-users, which would be sad all round.

  • Add one Premium member to the list please. You would think that a thread that’s been running since April 2016 would show enough demand for Strava to finf a person who could fix this. There must be someone out there!

  • I agree. I was able to upload my Strava activities to fitbit so makes sense with Garmin Connect.

  • Please add me to this request too - it works well the other way around, if capturing stats with my Garmin triathlon watch, but if I'm using a Wahoo Elmnt bike computer - those stats only go to Strava. Good to have them across both applications for continuity.

  • If Strava will not take on this project who can recommend another application that is not so disregarding to the members?

  • Yep, I’ve been a premium member for ages, but not for much longer I don’t think.

  • The reason they aren't making this functionality available is because it would make it easier for us to move all of our activities to different platform and leave strava altogether.

Strava, I was a long time premium subscriber and happy customer.  I would be still and could be again if you stop this ridiculous attempt to become facebook 2.  I'm beyond frustrated.  It's obvious that a large majority of users want a chronological feed.  The survey that you had us all waste our time with told you that.  Weeding out running KOMs from people traveling 60 mph would be easy.  Fix that.  Better analysis tools.  But instead we get deaf ears and new ways to give kudos.

Also, add me to the 10+ pages of people that want to export to garmin connect.  I'm sure you'll get right on that.

  • Just use https://tapiriik.com/ for $2/yr.  Takes 2 mins to set-up, and it syncs the majority of fitness sites.

  • Jeff, tapiriik still works, I just did a Strava run today and it updated both Garmin and Runkeeper. It's the only solution to this issues that I know of. Cheers!
