Sync from Strava to Garmin Connect

I  can only seem to push from Garmin to Strava. What I want is to use the app to record runs when I have no Garmin device and push to Garmin Connect. Then I can have my data in both platforms. Is that possible?

In my Garmin Connect account settings I see that Strava can only read. Is that correct?

  • I would like this feature too.  Having a two way communication like Samsung Health is outstanding for stationary rides like exrpesso, zwift, etc. when at the gym.  Please add this this feature.

  • +1. This is a ridiculous situation. So many of us use both Garmin and Strava platforms. If it is a "problem" on the Garmin side, the Strava should be talking to the, and providing evidence that they are doing so. Get on with it.

Yet another feature request that would be a great enhancement for users, which Strava want to blatantly ignore for years!!!!

  • Seriously - is this still an issue? I am ready to simply drop Strava and go with GC because more family use it instead. WTH Strava? Why would you not make this automatic?

  • Looks like Garmin cut off Tapiriik.  Rude.

Tapiriik syncs to Dropbox though so I'm going to try and import the dropbox files into Garmin.

This would all be moot though if Strava synced to Garmin.

  • I really need this too. Some of my longest rides are on Strava only.

  • I would like to see this feature as well, but I guess that the missing numbers of requests is a convenient but not completely truth.. Why would a platform which you pay for be interested in syncing data to a free platform (earning their money on hardware)... I guess the best thing to hope for is it to be incorporated in strava as a payed for utility (but I would like to see strava prove me wrong :-) )

  • Another one here requesting this feature, @strava, could you let us know how many requests you need to implement it?

  • Almost 4 years on the ol product backlog huh Strava?

Im sure there are many of us (myself included) who would be more than willing to help implement this feature.

  • Nephi Sanchez's October 01, 2016 (16:23) "how to" post works perfectly.  Didn't grab my Garmin 520 on yesterday's ride but had my phone.  Just ran Strava for the ride.  Then today transferred, "reversed" the traditional order following Sanchez's instructions and went from Strava to Garmin Connect.  All good!

  • This request is insane and is NEVER going to happen!

Yes, I can appreciate why people want it, but the very idea ruins the business model of both Strava and Garmin, who are direct competitors in the same space.  This fact seems to be completely lost to everybody here!

    To spell it out further:

    1) If Strava sync'd it's data back to Garmin then Garmin would, in effect, be Strava.  Oh wait, but, then..., why look at Strava?!  Especially when Gamin analytics are improving, etc. So a negative for Strava.

    2) If Garmin allowed backwards sync from Strava with data that wasn't collected on Garmin devices (but say on iPhones, etc), then there would no longer be a need to have a Gamin device.  Hmmm, now what is Gamin's business model?  Can anybody remember?  Oh yes, I remember now, selling GPS devices!!! So a negative for Garmin.

So, the final score:  Garmin -1, Strava -1.

Wake up and smell the coffee people.
