Sync from Strava to Garmin Connect

I  can only seem to push from Garmin to Strava. What I want is to use the app to record runs when I have no Garmin device and push to Garmin Connect. Then I can have my data in both platforms. Is that possible?

In my Garmin Connect account settings I see that Strava can only read. Is that correct?

That works for me.  If there was a more direct way to do it that would be nice.  Some clubs post their rides on Strava, but nice to be able to download them to Forerunner 25 via GC.

I started my training with a connect but now use a wahoo computer. I'd rather keep using the connect app since all my data is there already. So auto uploads from Strava to connect would make this way easier.

  • So Elle Anderson just how many people need to ask for this feature before it's fixed? Looks like you have about five pages of your users, including PAYING users like me who want to be able to push a workout fromStrava to Garmin Connect.

  • Please implement this! Most of the time manual imports to GC just fail without proper error messages...

  • I would love to see this feature too

  • Add this tool http://gotoes.org/strava/Add_Timestamps_To_GPX.php to add time stamps to the gpx file. After that the import will work fine!

  • I also would like to do this, I also have my phone with me and stave but use Garmin Connect to log ALL my fitness activity from Garmin Edge and Fenix HR.  It would make it super slick if you could sync from Strava to Garmin seamlessly

  • Dears, I would also need Strava to Garmin Connect sync. It would be great to have two way sync already in Strava, without using the third parties.

  • I'd love to get this working as well, I now record my rides with a Wahoo Elemnt which syncs to Strava and Training Peaks but can't auto sync to Garmin Connect.

I get reduced health insurance premiums from Vitality based on the amount of activity I log on Garmin Connect, they don't look at Wahoo or Strava or TP as valid sources for activity.

If I could automatically push Strava rides to Garmin Connect then I would continue to get reduced premiums without needing to use a Garmin or manually upload FIT file to Garmin Connect.

  • Is anyone else having problems with tapiriik.com? If Strava broke this link I am canceling my membership.

  • Similar with me, I won't ever try to get one as long this issue is not solved. Tapiriik can only be a temporary solution. Sorry for strava..

  • RE

"Sync from Strava to Garmin Connect."

I want to reiterate that I mean Auto sync.

I'm aware of how to get an activity from Strava to Connect manually.

Can someone from STRAVA please comment on whether this feature is under consideration or not?

    Thanks.

  • I agree, I would like to have an automatic upload of all past Strava activities to Garmin connect. I have been using Strava for a while. I was especially interested in the calculated power data feature. Now I would like to be able to compare that with the data I will be getting on my new Garmin Vector power pedals and my new Garmin Edge. I will still be using Strava from Garmin. Sometimes I will be going on a different bike or running, in which case I will only use my phone and and Strava to record the activity. How cool it would be if that would upload to Garmin Connect automatically?

  • A use case for such case, somewhat that doesn't happen often:

    1. Forgot to charge a Garmin
    2. Recorded an activity with the Strava phone app
    3. Saved the activity, all fine.
    4. Imported the .gpx file manually into Garmin Connect
    5. It gets synced back into Strava the usual way, creating a duplicate activity and bothering with challenges

  • I would find this helpful as well!  I've used a Garmin watch for years so I have all my data in Garmin Connect.  I also have alot of connections (i.e friends) within Garmin connect.  I recently started using the Strava app with an Apple Watch.  I'd love to have my data in both Strava and Garmin Connect.

  • This is a  very useful feature to have. Sync should be possible from Strava to Garmin.

  • Just canceled my subscription.  Strava isn't allowing export_tcx to function anymore...  That means you can't export your power data.  This was the way Tapiriik moved your data or the way you do it manually.  This app is no longer useful to me....  Let me know IF they ever support Garmin.  This type of short sightedness will make starva irrelevant.

  • Actually, Garmin may be considering this project. They are in the best position to simply may their existing sync feature go both ways. Be sure to let Garmin know your feedback as well, thanks.
