  • In addition to giving the paying user what they want, Stava also gains from a performance perspective as it doesn't have to retrieve as many records from it's database!

  • +1, select ONLY commutes for my stream by default.

Also, you could become much more of a social hub if club posts showed up on my dashboard. It's ridiculous that I have to select clubs one-by-one to view posts.

  • Seven years and counting for no action planned to be the only response from Strava. It looks like we cant even sort the comments field by most recent to save scrolling through seven years of comments to get to the most recent!

  • Please implement this feature.

  • I haven't waded through all seven pages of this, but has anyone from Strava engineering or UX dropped by to explain why this is:

    - problematic to implement from an engineering perspective
    - problematic to realise from a UX perspective

  • Really an important missing feature in my opinion as well. Super annoying to get your feed cluttered by people posting their daily 3.5km commutes!

  • Please bring this feature out.
    It is needed.
I want it be able to choose certain people to see less of. Eg some riders post their every day rise to and from work and flood my news feed.
I don’t want to see this but I still want to follow them.

  • +1. This would be a very helpful feature!

  • You know what...

When your customer asks for a feature and for 7 years, you haven't provided any valuable feedback on their requests, never mind any specific value related to the request they are asking you for, what you are saying is clearly you don't value your customer.  Its really as simple as that.  And this is the perfect ingredient for that developer who is already creating an app that can do what you do, and probably a bit more. Your actions here are old school, and sadly, it could cost you your market share and potentially your business life span. Apparently, Strava is not aligned to the "New" way business is done..

PS: This is not that complex, seriously... its a stream or feed, and each object or content has some type of attributes... start simple and add one additional filter at a time.

  • Actually, i have the perfect solution! :)

I may begin a campaign to make you re-think your strategy on communicating better with your customer, and especially building a product that aligns to what THEY actually desire.

This campaign will start influencing Strava users to downgrade their membership to free version until strava becomes more of a company that responds to its customers.

I wonder how much revenue loss it will take, before they respond...

Any thoughts or ideas on this from others... And i'm serious!

  • I'm also a Summit member whose forehead is getting flat from banging it against the wall. I wonder if the the Strava "team" even reads this bulletin board.?

  • Just cancelled my Summit subscription because the lack of feed sorting is a joke.  This is not a serious company who wants my money.  I do not believe that your programmers are unable to implement various sorting algorithms for us to use.  Some managers high up think that a crappy user interface is the way of the future.  Id recommend the more apt job for them of guarding the staplers.

  • +1 to filtering out virtual rides. Like my comments on various other ignored threads here. 😜

  • Please introduce the option to filter out zwift & other indoor training rides.  I follow a lot of people and I've got no interest in looking at their virtual rides.  Let's keep rides at rides, not wannabe rides.

  • Yes please Strava.  I am an outdoor cyclist and not at all interested in runs, swims, kayaks, indoor pedaling, etc.  Please allow us (even at least premium members) the option to customise and filter our Strava feeds.

  • Yes please again Strava!  In the current situation there's not much chance that anyone interested in Strava don't know about smart trainers and online virtual cycling experiences.  This isn't an emerging niche that needs promoting and it's always been a turn off for me (and what looks like quite a few others). Given we pay for Summit it would be a small mercy if you'd allow us not to have to look at repetitive Watopia screenshots and boring Sufferfest humour

  • so... this clearly isn't one of the alleged '50 improvements!!11one!" that strava is saying it has implemented to justify charging people in the middle of a worldwide pandemic while freely profiting from all users data

its only been asked for several years.. and they sell the 'commute' tagged data but they cant use that same tag for users to filter their feed

  • Instead of giving us feed filters, you keep adding meaningless things to the feed. The clutter is getting worse instead of better. ‘Local Legend’??? Really!!???? At least... please... STOP ADDING NEW CRAP TO THE FEED!

  • I don't know about the rest of you, but I use the Mobile App on my iPhone a lot.  However, lately the "challenges" and "clubs" have clogged it up so much I am finding the activity feed to be difficult at best, very annoying and frankly ruining my experience as a user.

I would very much like to see a filter to be able to remove these challenges and clubs or a "hide" or something along those lines.  I don't like giving kudos via my PC as I hate scrolling to just the right spot to do it; much easier on my mobile, but I am about to stop the practice as the mobile is useless for tracking friends and those I follow at this point. That leaves only the tracking of my individual rides as an option on the mobile or setting it only to the "You"; which I don't need.

I've been using Garmin Connect more and more lately, which has all of the same features and than some and doesn't have all of these clubs and challenges clogging the feed.  Anyone else experiencing similar frustrations?
