  • What’s the holdup in giving the option of starting the week on a Sunday?

  • I've been referenced here from your own help center, after inquiring about the same issue, just to see that the original request is from 2012?
    Is this a joke?
If you are not planing on adding this feature, than there are plenty other apps that do offer it.

  • I 2nd... NAY 100000000th this request. What a shame that this has been going on for nearly 7 years. It's a big part of why I bought summit, and a complete let down that I would have to shift other calendar activities for this (which I won't do).

Come on Strava.... listen up. ANY DAY OF THE WEEK FOR A START TIME.

I was just on the verge of buying two memberships as gifts too... that's $180 alone you're missing out on from me.

  • Seriously, how many users and how many support threads does it take to just let us pick our start day?  It messes up our training weeks.  Come on strava.  My Suunto app lets me choose, why can't you?

  • No answer from Strava IS an answer. Through their silence they are communicating that they don't care about what's important to their customers, don't care about improving their product.

In response to their silence, I've cancelled my premium account.

  • Tell me again why this is still a thing?  Let Summit Members choose the day of the week as their start or at least make it Sunday.

  • Runkeeper starts on Sunday, it also has options for time or distance interval settings. See ya strava

  • I'd like to add myself to the chorus of people requesting this feature. Recently switched over but my miles per week are all off. This sucks. Fix it!

  • I don't even mind that you can't start the plan on Sunday for planning purposes.  My issue is that I'd like to do that so Sunday can be my rest day.  It's the rest day customization that I deal with.  I end up exporting the calendar into word or excel and just shifting the days anyway, but then the emails, etc all don't line up.  So ya, starting on Sunday would do that, but for others with the REST DAY issue, it would be nice to start any day of the week if you want to personalize where your rest days fall based on your individual scheduling restraints.

  • Honestly thought I'd lost a run, as my weekly distance was short... Seriously cannot believe that there isn't a toggle to change this and Strava haven't addressed such a simple (but highly annoying) request. And, this *is* a simple issue. Just a flag and an if statement, that even with my cut and paste coding skills I could cobble together!

  • Agree agree agree...the start of the week should be an option that the user can select. I'm very new to Strava. Today was my first Sunday workout. I checked my stats and was surprised to see the workout added to last week. Having Monday as the first day of the week is a "relatively new" trend. Strava is the only app I have seen (in 35 years in the IT industry) that starts the week on a Monday.

  • Just found this thread, I have been running since 1981 and have always started my week on a Sunday, I can't believe how old this thread is !
Strava need to make a statement why it isn't sorted after all thes years :-)

  • I'm new to Strava and Garmin, and only been using for the last few months. Have enjoyed some of the challenges, and been looking to sign up for the 'Exercise 5 day for 4 Weeks' challenge. I thought it odd that Strava starts the week on Monday, and Garmin starts the week on a Sunday, which sounds like it is difficult tracking the activities for this challenge. I Google what I expect to be a quick fix in order to align the 2, and instead find this thread. I add my voice to the request for changing the start date to Sunday or making it user defined. However, if none of the previous requests over the last 7 years have managed to achieve this, I have little hope!!!

  • Great point @Ann Ni

Be sure and ensure the number ticks up one when you vote.  If you click again it removes your vote.  I noticed it going both up and down after trying to see if it was even working, before I verified it was incremented by 1.

  • This is wild that it's not been sorted. You have so many interesting high tech features and yet have overlooked this very important very basic one! Really love your app Strava - but this needs to get sorted out!

  • Wow most of the ideas on that page Ann Ni posted are 6-8 years old!

  • As a mitigation, is it possible to add a sunday first view to the calendar page? This is a smaller change because it doesn't require modified calculations/integrations across the site. The change would be to to add a drop down in the UI to select personal start day (either directly in the calendar UI, or in settings under "Display Preferences". For the logic, I would rotate the dates by 1 day when loading, there may be an extra case for spacing the months depending on how that logic is handled.

    A. I would scope at 3 dev-days if you have someone ramping up on the calendar page UI, and add test time to that (probably QA test though so it won't take extra dev time)

    B. Is there a specific team we should make the request to?  Who owns the calendar UI and can they fit this on somebody's plate for next sprint?

    C. Can I away team this work? (Maybe a bit of a challenge since the code isn't opensourced :/ but I guess the strava secret sauce isn't in the calendar page so this should be ok :) -

It would be awesome if you all gave some clarity on the timeline. Is this a Q1 deliverable? Tentatively Q4? Thank you!!

  • Jordan,

Nice of you to offer, yet again, to address this issue out-of-house. If you take to time to read back -- 7 years and counting -- there have been quite a few such offers, so it is clear that Strava is not interested in addressing it. You should not expect anything like clarity or a timeline.

In any of my previous companies, we could have skunk-worked this -- including the complications associated with different calendar matching -- in well under a month, including rigorous QA. So my only read is that Strava prioritizes this issue at 0, and does not support out-of-band efforts by their engineers.

  • After some bad experiences with other apps, I'm trying out Strava for the first time, deciding if I want to actually spend money on this one or not. I perfectly understand that not everything is going to be perfect as I'd like, but finding that I can't change the display of the training calendar to match the most common calendar format on my continent seems like a huge flaw. Finding out that this has been a requested feature for more than seven years now is an even larger flaw and frankly, a serious red flag.

I understand that the date range calculations for leader boards (and other features for which I care not a wit) needs to be consistent. I'm not asking for that to be changed, and reading the mass of comments here, few if any other users aren't asking for that either. I'm asking for nothing more than a display option!

    WTF?

  • I am cancelling my Summit subscription until this is resolved. I don't run on Sunday's for religious reasons. It's not worth my time and money.

  • I'm incredibly disappointed that Strava has not updated the calendar feature even after people have been requesting it for so many years. Seriously, what is the reason for ignoring such a simple feature request?

When asking Strava directly on their Facebook page, I was given a generic response. "We’re a small team, so we’re constantly working to make the overall experience for our users better, but some things are higher priority at the moment. We appreciate your patience and understanding."

I guess they will need another 7 years to get to this.

  • Sunday or any other week start day please.
Been 8 years already.. in sure a small team would have been able to get to it by now... else im sure that there is a strava user that is willing to do it for them.
