Year-to-Date Club Leaderboard

Clubs show leaderboards for this week and last week.  A year to date leaderboard would be good.

  • Absolutely agree. A year to date leaderboard makes sense

  • An up to date yearly leaderboard is a must for this challenge

  • A year-to-date leader board would be fantastic! It seems to be in the pipeline for 5 years which seems an awfully long time.

  • I don’t like being negative but I wouldn’t hold your breath! Despite Elle’s ‘update’ the reality is that she said something similar in January last year.
I think it’s fair to say that after 4 years, this thread/feature request demonstrates how disinterested Strava is in it’s customer’s opinions. Disappointing, but it is what it is!

  • I set up a club, as a group of us set a challenge to run 2000 miles this year.  We are only one week in and the total miles have reset.  I just assumed this would accumulate over the whole year, not just a week.  A wee bit disappointing.  Would be really helpful if we could see total yearly miles.

  • Can we please have the full year figures otherwise the 4000 m challenge is pointless. Thanks

  • Comments back as far as 7th January 2014. This is an incredibly straightforward code to write. Seems Strava not really interested in these forums or the feedback from their users. Hundreds of people writing the same request for 3 years hasn't got through to them.

  • Yeah this would be really handy, especially for charity drives where various athletes are sponsored per km/mi

  • Pascal published a solution in the past. He created himself a web site to manage this sort of leaderboard. Have à look on : http://yearlyva.herokuapp.com.

  • Totally agree that annual distance totals to go with last week / this week is a required feature for clubs. Please implement it at the first opportunity!

  • Please Strava, make this available! Such a shame to sit on this pile of data and do nothing about this...

  • The strava site is becoming really old fashioned. Simple things like this are not possible or must have a thought over!? Really this is so out of date thinkling. Come on make this possible!

  • Please!  I am trying to put together a company cycling challenge for our health program which will bring 100's of new users to Strava.   Without YTD stats, it is pointless.

  • So .. This thread was started in 2013 and NOTHING has happened yet .. looks like NOTHING is the only thing that will happen ..

waste of time being in a club that can't even be bothered to let members know their club status .. I was up to 3000 km at end February (Thanks to RideByGPS) and although I have slowed down somewhat due to family obligations, I expect to cross that threshold during the next couple of days ( https://ridewithgps.com/users/216733 )
I really don't see the point of staying around though to see if anything happens ...

  • can someone tell me how to get myself off of this "Challenge" ... there seems to be no way that I can find .. Once IN it seems that you are in a Hotel California situation .. NO WAY OUT !!

I'll just keep to the monthly challenges .. which by the way are also inaccurate .. No recalculation of route heights, no way to correct inconsistencies when the GPS goes haywire and doubles your distance, or even loses track of where it is and you want to correct it once you get home .. even the times recorded in the GPS (Moving Time) differ from site to site and from my manual recording (Odometer) always being minutes longer than the most accurate method I have and the same gpx file uploaded to another site !!

  • Latest reply from Strava Camilla...

Thanks for taking the time to write in. We're a small team and unfortunately cannot implement every change as quickly as we'd like to. Annual Club leaderboards are certainly something we'd still like to address once we have some bandwidth available.

    We appreciate your patience.

Well, they are only a new small startup with a limited user base!! More bandwidth, eh?!! 🙄😂

  • Yes I'm well in support of this... we run a club annual mileage competition and this would make this way more fun and interactive to see everyone's progress.

Looking forward to seeing it before year end please :)

  • Come on Strava. People have been asking for a year to date for years. How hard can it be?

  • You perhaps didn't previous comments but I've developed such a feature on my free : http://yearlyva.herokuapp.com/

At this time it's only YTD and bike but I can add new features if it's available on datas from strava API.

It's also in French, but there's not much text.

  • Really strange that Strava still hasn't actioned this when it should be a relatively simple way of encouraging more people onto their app to enjoy some friendly club competition.
