Agree with what everyone is saying. Come on Strava guys its an easy tweak to the code. Jeez this request thread is over 3 years old. The dara is already being captured i.e. elevation year to date. Give us a 2017 Christmas present!
Finally let my premium membership slide as well. They seem more concerned with implementing faux-Facebook features than the actual functional side that made Strava so appealing to begin with.
Pretty please can you add the ability to set elevation goals for the week & year? Always wanted this feature, and this year I'm trying to get to 1,000,000 feet. Keep up the good work. I Love Strava.
Now that "Premium" has become "SUMMIT" - doesn't that imply the need for elevation goals? Are we going to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of this ignored request this December?
So, this is my last time trying to get this. After this, I'm done, and never using Strava again. I've been trying to get a climbing goal made since 2012. On the intro page when I first signed up for Strava in 2010, it said that "cycling is all about the climbs." I agree. Can I please, pretty please, be able to track my vertical climbing? I am training for mountaineering, and for doing the big CLIMBS of Europe. I really would like to know if I have reached my weekly goal for vertical. I pretty much don't care about linear distance. As several other people have noted- if I am tracking linear distance and shuttling at a bike park or resort, or if I'm riding flats, my linear mileage... never mind. I've made these arguments for years. Why am I even writing this? No one has looked at this fucking thread for almost a year.
Nice Strava. Really responsive. You guys suck. Keeping my free account to track the wear on my gear. As soon as I can do that on Garmin, I'm done.
If anyone at Strava gives a shit about customer experience, please have some guts and respond to this. If you don't, you're just confirming 8 years of shitty service.
Jamie Nelson I totally agree, I have given up hoping that Strava will listen to their customers on their support page. I use the Elevate for Strava plugin for Chrome browser which was developed purely because Strava CBF doing it themselves. This plugin is great for viewing on a PC, but doesn't help on mobile or Garmin etc, you might find it useful though. I set a yearly goal of 150,000m elevation and can easily keep track of my progress and compare to previous years. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/elevate-for-strava/dhiaggccakkgdfcadnklkbljcgicpckn?hl=en

My new strategy for making this happen is to reply to every email that talks about Premium Perks or anything sales related:
Here is a premium perk a bunch of us want: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/208835197-Set-Goals-based-on-Elevation-gained
Please cut and paste that to reply to any sales email, since the zendesk is just ignoring us.
I'll sign back up for premium once it's back.
Please join me on December 10th to celebrate the Four Year Anniversary of this unanswered thread!
Haha, my new goal is to get at least 2k in elevation on 12/10!
Four years already? Nothing from Strava? What a huge disappointment. This is an easy task that will make users happy.
@Jason Cauthen
'Celebration' of the Four year Anniversary of the start of this thread seem a great idea.
I shall get myself out of running semi-retirement, strap up my old busted knees and climb 480 metres* on the 10th December, just to honour the event.
10 metres for every month.
Hows that for an elevation goal :- )
*other units of measurement are available.
Two words Strava..... Elevation Goals!!!
Happy (Belated) Birthday to the Elevation Goals request! Who'd of thunk it'd get to FOUR YEARS. They grow up so fast!!
@Leon Shen
@Matt Hortop (how did you do the actual tag on my name btw?)
@Lewis Woodward
I thought yearly elevation goals would already be a feature and that perhaps I was not looking the right place to find it in the menus.
A google search found this so now I will disappointedly give up and just do it myself manually.
Strava are good with their software (much better than Garmin buggy rubbish) it amazes me that they would ignore this request.
Well my premium was up for renewal yesterday and it got cancelled. Going to vote with my money.
Finally let my premium membership slide as well. They seem more concerned with implementing faux-Facebook features than the actual functional side that made Strava so appealing to begin with.
Nice done, Mark and Jeff. I will let my premium end as well if they don't really care.

I’ll add my voice to this request
Helooooooooo Strava!? This is like Karl Pilkington ignoring the doorbell by pretending nobody is there.
i would totally support an elevation goal similar to distance and time
Should be too hard to do - it would be a great feature
I just let my premium subscription expired. Won't renew until I see this feature.

+1

+1 (one year later...)
Strava support -> Where user feedback goes to die
Subscription canceled since basic addition is too complicated for Strava to implement (6 years after being requested).
