  • I know it! Have you checked out any of these sites? Maybe I should work with them make field hiding an automated part of the workflow?

  • Great tool, but same can be done with Golden Cheetah, problems is that I would like to see my power data on Strava, that is the only reason I'm using strava, but I would like to eg block all my FTP tests on it.

  • Thanks for all the great feedback on this topic, and Kevin thanks for linking your tool.

I think this is a reasonable feature enhancement request, and I'm going to put this on the list for consideration by our developers. We'll have to wait and see what happens, as I'm not able to determine if we can fit it in in the near future.

Keep clicking the "Me Too" button at the top!

  • Until a 'hide HR' feature becomes available I've downgraded from premium to regular account. There's no real benefit being a premium member otherwise. Please let me know once this feature has been implemented.

  • Ok just bought a power meter, as soon as I can choose to keep the data private I'll happily upgrade to premium

  • I agree - If they made this a Premium feature I would upgrade. In the meantime I have set my Profile to enhanced privacy.

  • Same for me ! I do not like strava because I cannot hide my data : mainly HR and power outputs

  • Any update on this?  It is cool to see where people are riding etc. but you should be able to hide power and HR as an option.  Maybe Strava has reason to keep it in??  Seems like a no-brainer.

  • You have to wonder how people don't sign up for premium just because of this. This string has been going on now since Feb. and still nothing.

  • FIT File Tools (https://www.fitfiletools.com) has added an upload to Strava feature. You can remove fields (e.g. power / heart rate) from your FIT file and then upload directly to Strava. Previously you had to download the modified file and then upload to Strava. The FFT->Strava integration is a minor but convenient feature!

  • I'll probably 'downgrade' from premium just so people don't get to see as all the data about the ride when using a PM.

  • If they are actually going to look at this perhaps the best way of handling it is to have a 'who can see this' option on each field (i.e. power, hr, cadence, etc).  Options are 'everyone', 'followers', 'club members', 'only me'.

  • WHY DO STRAVA DEVELOPERS IGNORE THIS REQUEST?

  • We should all just band together and cancel premium at the same time, at least until a representative gives a clear timeline on when this will be implemented. It is pure hubris at this point when Strava refuses to address an issue that primarily, while not exclusively, affects its paying subscription customers.

  • why don't you implement this feature right away, since there's no technical impediment to that?!?!

  • +1 !! This is urgent. Especially for premium users!

  • + to hide HR and power data.  specifically for TT races and FTP tests.  without this option, i opt to make races private - which isn't the right answer as it strips fellow competitors of the opportunity to see fly-bys.

one potential option / compromise for transparency vs. privacy would be to give folks a certain number of workouts they can hide (maybe ~10-15 per year).

  • Guys has this been resolved? Can HEART RATE date be turned off and not show up in STRAVA?

  • Vote with your feet.

It's obvious after commenting and following this request for what seems like 2+ years, that STRAVA is never going to do anything about this. So, as others, I will not pay for a premium membership and continue to use the free Golden Cheetah software to  manage my workouts & biometric data, and then upload my rides to STRAVA using Golden Cheetah, striped of biometrics, for the social aspect. Besides, Golden Cheetah has much better tools for evaluating and monitoring your heart rate, power, fatigue, & fitness levels than STRAVA.

  • Any updates since Nov 2016?? I fail to see how can privacy be a prio for Strava but not implement a hide option having this request open for years..

  • I am just adding to the list. But I agree, I would like to be able to hide both HR and power. I know that it is possible b/c it seems that is what the pro's on Strava get. They load distance, speed, cadence, elevation, etc. But they never post their power and HR, even though you know they have the data. Come on Strava....

  • It's not about hiding the power or the pulse data.
The important thing is to be able you can hide your power
and pulse ZONES, and the time in each power or pulse zone you
have been in during your training.

  • Hi Elle, thank you again for your reply.
I'm sure Strava will do the best for develop this feature and I hope it.
I'm sorry for my awful english, it's hard for me to write in English, I don't want to be argumentative...
But I think this: we are talking about privacy feature and then a privacy feature should have the highest priority but I have the impression that Strava prefers develop social features like a sort of facebook (post, photos... I have read post with videos will be planned).
I agree social features but I think privacy features are most important.
    Thank you
