Display Segment Ranking as a Percentage as well as Ratio: 117/1023 (8.7%)

My goal is to be in the top 10% of all segments. This would help me recognize quickly if I had achieved that goal

Thanks!

• It's my goal too!

• Not that there are any such highly competed segments were I am, but if there were I think this would be a good idea. When I go on a fun run I am for a percentage not a place.

• Totally agree - I cycle in London so too much competition for KOM, but top 10/20 % may be achievable - Strava could give golden Kudos for top 10% etc

• And show a graphical distribution of riders and times.

• Add me to the list of people wanting this feature!

• any chance this might happen soon?

• Yeah completely agree with getting some form of trophy for a top 10%/20%, because many segments have thousands of attempts, so a top 10 is more or less impossible in normal conditions
• I concur.

• percentile ranking is more interesting to me than absolute ranking.   I'd like to know where I fit into the bell curve on any given segment.     On popular routes, I've rocketed up in absolute rankings by just dropping a few seconds.  On unpopular routes, I've dropped full minutes from my time and only climbed four or five places in the rankings.    I'd rather know if I go from 50% to 30%

seeing as how this merely requires the addition of very simple math, let's implement it!

Thanks, Strava.

• Agree 100% re percentile ranking.  I would love to see more detailed statistical analysis.  I've come to realize we're far more likely to see it come out of veloviewer then Strava though.

• I think this is a good idea, but, I think a more representative percentile would be based on your segment time (versus the recorded range and frequency), not position. A bit more statistical analysis required on Strava's part, but more useful in the long run, as a particular segment may be skewed by fast riders/runners - eg, a 50% position percentile may actually equate as a 30% percentile time.

• +1

• this would be perfect!!

• Looks like a lot of people want this. Is it going to happen?

• the stravistix addon for chrome adds this as well as some other cool stuff.

• Another vote for Stravistix -- Really picks up Strava's excessive amount of slack on new and useful features.

I just nailed a hard climb... 49th out of 2,061 athletes near San Francisco. It would be nice to get some sort of recognition for this (top 2.4%).
