Choose default Dashboard Feed View (e.g. My Activities)

Default setting so Dashboard always shows 'My Activity' ahead of 'Who I'm Following'.

That about sums it up I think. Some kind of preference setting that enables the above, so you don;t have to change it using the drop down menu everytime.

Yup, pretty ridiculous, it has been what?... THREE YEARS now since this was requested?

For me too, this is the whole reason that I DO NOT follow anyone except my few riding buddies... I mean like only 4 or 5 people.

Until this is sorted out WILL NOT follow any more more people and have my screen cluttered all the time!

  • Default setting so Dashboard always shows "My Activity " before "Who I'm Following"

I have lost hope in Strava ever fixing this small issue.

  • And another use who wants this too. I wondered whether it was part of Premium but apparently not. I like Strava very much. It has helped me improve my health. But quirks like this and inattention to customer requests make a user reluctant to invest more.

  • Come on Strava this is beyond pathetic.  So many requests for something which you yourself have said would be addressed a couple of years ago and still nothing.

    IT IS A SIMPLE FIX!!!!

What kind of customer service company continues to frustrate it's customers by ignoring them.

Considering whether to terminate my membership now.

  • This issue was the last straw... I downgraded my account this week and Strava will get no more money from me. This has been on "the list" for like 3 years, I mean how ridiculous??! Such a simple thing. Again, this is why I do not follow more than a few people.... who what's their screen cluttered with everyone else?! I mean, yes I want to look at other people but WHEN I want to, not as the default. Come on Strava, get your act together...

  • Although I believe that Strava should have handled this long ago, I have adopted the following work-around:

    1. Bookmark your own activities page. Hopefully that will move it high on the list of your websites that begin with S.

    2. When you start typing Strava, watch for your My Activities URL to appear in your history. Don't click on the homepage Strava.com but on your own activities URL.

    3. Further, if you edit one of your activities, clicking back will take you again to your My Activities page.

  • I can imagine a Strava admin looking at this thread thinking, yeah we're going to fix it tomorrow... late... or Saturday... or sometime in February... 2025.

  • Wow, nearly 4 years and this trivial change still isn't done.

  • Soon this issue will be open for more than 4 years... Is it really that difficult?

  • I'm a brand new premium member and it's the very first thing that came to my mind.

If you don't have any people you are following will it default to your own activities?  If so I'll (kindly) ask my friends not to follow me

  • No, and that's part of the problem. It always shows "following" activities, even if you're not following anyone.

Unfortunately there is some lag before your own activities show up in the "following" list, requiring the user to select "your activities" to see the latest items you've just synced or uploaded.

  • I have to agree, my most common interaction with the site, is pressing that silly "My activities" pull down.   JUST CHANGE THE DEFAULT--we don't even need a new feature.  :)

  • Almost 4 years... is anyone from Strava reading this?

  • Does anyone on the thread know how we can directly communicate this to Strava developers rather than just their customers talking to each other?

  • Dr Jordan B Peterson's "12 Rules for Life - An Antidote to Chaos"

Chapter 4 - COMPARE YOURSELF TO WHO YOU WERE YESTERDAY, NOT TO WHO SOMEONE ELSE IS TODAY

    Sort this out - Bucko's.

  • Have had to delete Strava app off my phone because you can't pick a default feed... in peak block of Marathon training I need to be focusing on me, myself and I.

Having the3 hour run before work of a much more experienced training buddy appear as the first thing I see in the morning is crushing my soul!

I'd delete Strava completely if it wasn't for the training log view which is excellent and I can't find anything vaguely comparable in Garmin Connect.

  • I just stopped following everyone, and so now the only activities on both feeds are mine.  Super anti-social,  but there you have it.

  • Great comment Kevin.   The only thing that will make them change this is if we all keep asking.  I can understand commercially why they're doing this because they want to drive additional social subscribers.... but need to consider the people who are already paying.

  • As long as Strava believes that it is "better marketing" to force you to see what everyone else is doing first they will not change this. That is why I STOPPED PAYING FOR PREMIUM.

I only follow 2-3 close friends because of this. I would actually follow MORE people if Stava would make this an option, but I want to look at other's activities when I want to, not when Strava thinks I want to.

  • This is RIDICULOUS!!! I'm too thinking about downgrading. I can get most of what I need fro Garmin Connect anyway. What I'm doing right now though is unfollowing everyone but 2 people. When is Strava going to learn that they are causing the inverse effect they want by not being responsive to people's needs/wants.

  • Strava wants to be the Facebook of sports tracking. I'm about to be done with them and use Garmin Connect only.

  • Has Strave yet gone public? If so a max exodus from Strava ought to get shareholder's attention regarding this issue.
