Option to Hide Strava Challenge updates in Activity Feed

Challenge notifications are spamming up my activity feed. Can't even see what people are doing because of this crap. I am starting to make passive-aggressive comments implying certain people need to stop entering challenges, failing that I will unfollow them.

A "Do not receive challenge updates in activity feed" option would solve this.

  • Come on Strava. Please do something about this. It's really annoying. Just a simple Display option 'hide challenges' would do it.

  • Please Strava add a option to filter out challenges, every day they just reappear flooding the feed.

  • My consequence – no Strava Premium any longer. Will not stop Challenge spam but the only option I have.

  • Dear Strava - do you read these Forums??  This has been annoying people for 3 years and counting, surely a simple checkbox isn't too much trouble?  Mandatory challenge notifications is really pointless and takes up loads of screen real estate.. Very poor User Experience.  I'd even go for it being a 'Premium' feature..

  • Yes, please put this in (or into your new concept of the feed)

  • Haha, hopefully the fix will take less time than this response! Looking forward to it.

  • I would second all the comments, this has been driving me nuts for a while. In the iOS app feed, the challenges do not show up, so please get rid of them on the web site as well!!

  • Might be officially frowned upon... but I wrote a note about hiding these in the browser and from the Android app: http://blog.ivor.org/2017/09/strava-pruning.html

  • How hard can it be to install a feature hiding the whole "joined challenge" spam?? I am especially annoyed with this on the mobile app, it is impossible to see the actual activities due to this AND the new "athletes unfiltered" feauture. This defeats the purpose for which I use Strava. Stop trying to be a social network!

  • Good news! There is a new Chrome extension called "Stravini" that lets you filter out challenges and a few other things. It also makes your feed look better than the new one, in my opinion.

  • My annoyance is with the club join notifications, there are way too many, I could unfollow the people most likely to join clubs but would rather not have to

  • Seems unfortunately like this was never actually included in the interface upgrades as stated by the admins here.

So frustratinng they woukd down grade this option probably for some kindnofnplatform engagement metric. Its still really frustrating.

Just let us switch this off.

There are loads of ways to customise the feed. This should be one of them. What a waste of space and my visual attention. Please implement this so I dont see these pointless not even a challenge notifications.
