View Laps from GPS devices in Strava mobile app

It would be great if I could see the time and average pace for manually created laps in the mobile app, such as when we do interval training. Ie for when we do 400m or mile repeats.

Thanks for the great site which just keeps getting better.

  • Why am I paying $72/yr for an app that won't even acknowledge my splits? It is a huge inconvenience to have to get on the PC to find my splits. This is a significant feature gap in Strava. Please get it off the wish list and onto the do list.

  • This needs to be added ASAP. Makes no sense that this crucial data point is available online but absent from the app, particularly when many of us (myself included) are paying a not insignificant amount for this service.

  • Why this does not exist by default? I don't understand honestly...

  • @Mark Ewell: just cancel your subscription as I did. This is a premium feature and it is not available from mobile app, then there is no reason to have premium.

  • I agree with other users. I would never pay for the premium version because if doesn't include manual laps on the mobile app.

  • I used to be Premium but I've been waiting for this for two years now and no sign of it. Not impressed with how Premium users are treated. Subscription cancelled.

  • Okay, it is just weird that this is not in the app.

I only started using Strava a few days ago and I thought it was great, but this just has me scratching my head.

Is the Android app just something Strava pumped out a few years ago to say they did it and they haven't touched it since?

Do I need to look for a different website/app system to track my runs? Because, honestly, this is a pretty big red flag.  It makes it seem like Strava is not being actively maintained.

  • Please add laps to the mobile app! That would be more useful than getting rid of chronological feed :(

  • +1 to the above.
I've recently upgraded to Premium and was extremely disappointed and frustrated to discover you couldn't view laps in the app. Not exactly detailed analysis the is it?
I'm thinking of cancelling my subscription.

  • How about adding this? It's 2017already.

  • The lack of this feature, and the fact that it's been requested for more than three years without even a "yes we're working on it", may be the biggest sign that Strava is being mismanaged and that there's a big opportunity for a better company to step in and take over huge chunks of their market share.

  • Okay I actually google searched this because it was maddening. Yes I’m a premium subscriber yada yada but the start and end of it is this.

Even Garmin Connect does this. Thus I spend more and more time in Garmin Connect every day. The more I spend in there, the less I do in Strava. And there’s a tipping point.

We grief about quite a few features in this forum but Strava is meant to be aiming at us wannabe athletes and this is quite a critical feature. I’m not always near my computer, and when I sync with my watch I’m always outside.

It’s an opportunity and currently any Garmin users would spend their time in Connect, and that should worry you.

  • @Alex: just look on date of this request and what do you think? What users and especially premium users think is not important :) Last message from Strava team was send a year ago and nothing has been changed so far.

  • Stunned to see it was actually implemented: https://blog.strava.com/analyze-anywhere-14361/

I mean, it's a bit much compared to what was actually asked for all those years ago... but cool. It's in. Finally.

  • Maurizio, Workout Analysis is a Premium feature. Free users won't notice a change.

  • But does this let you view laps of of people you're following? I don't need deep analysis, I just want to view the user defined laps in my friend's sessions.

  • Jacov, the Premium feature applies to your own activities as well as viewing your friends' activities

  • Pretty bad you have to pay for this in mobile.
I got suckered with the auto renew once for a month but I just can't imagine intentionally paying for a site that actively detracts from the user experience and takes years to implement basic stuff.

  • The "laps" section (within an Activity) that exists on the Strava web interface is great and that's all that needs to be added to the Android app.

At the moment, I'm forced to use the Strava web interface (or Garmin Connect) to view lap and interval times. I'm sure that every track runner or runner who does intervals will feel exactly the same. It would be nice to be able to use the Strava app.

I understand that Strava is attempting to upsell its "Workout Analysis" feature, which makes sense, but viewing "Laps" is such a basic feature that is already free on the web interface. Why can't this free feature be in the app?
