Bike service record linked to mileage and date

The ability to record when you've changed your chain, bearings, had the bike services, new tyres, components etc. You can then print a record of your servicing, have reminders when to review your chain/bearings, (eg should get around 1200 miles from a chain), know what mileage you get out a tyre for example and generally keep a record or replacement parts and components by date and miles covered.

  • Most of this already exists in Stava's "My Gear" feature. You can log the mileage and age of components. While there's no specific "Print" feature, you could certainly print out the page. There's no reminder feature, which might be a useful addition.

  • Cheers Mark, never noticed that before. I'll give it a go. H

  • Once a component is "used", you can't pick it from the list again. It would be good to have a "Service" item that could be used multiple times.

  • Maybe guys from Strava doesn't  rotate multiple chains, don't have multiple wheels,... :)

  • If I could set up service reminders on a per-component basis, I'd gladly pay the Strava premium subscription fee.  I had a premium plan for 2 years, not sure it was worth it for me.  But, if I could set up a reminder to check brake pads/chain/headset/whatever based on mileage.... that'd totally be worth the premium price for me, every year.

  • I think it could be very intresting improvement.

You coluld set a event on calender, and get statistics from that date (distance, hours ecc); or something like warning...

  • I agree with all of the above, in particular the idea of automatic reminders based on time and/or distance depending on the type of component.

I've learnt the hard and expensive way as to why you need to change your chain regularly. Even though I now have a tool to measure chain stretch, and perform periodically checks, it'd be good to have an automatic reminder based on distance. For example, I've heard a good rule is to replace a chain every 1000 to 2000 miles depending on riding conditions. So for my mountain bike, an automatic reminder to check the chain every e.g., 900 miles (or corresponding kilometers for me in Australia) on my mountain bike would be very convenient.
