Improve "shoes management"

Hello,

Currently, the order of the list is quite random... would it be possible to organize the list of shoes:

- by alphabetical order (at least)

- by category: "old / deprecated shoes" and "shoes currently used".

Right now, the only way to "manage" old shoes is to delete them from the list. Would it be possible to create a specific category for them?

  • What I really miss is that you can not set an initial milage of your existing running shoes. In that way, you can only add new shoes, no existing ones.

I would really like if this was possible.

  • Yes, this would be a great improvement!

  • Having just added some older shoes to my running shoes collection, I would really like this feature to be addd.

  • Is there a maximum # of shoes that you can have? I want to add another pair, but the add shoes option is not showing up. I currently have 4 - 3 active and 1 retired. Am I going to have to delete a pair before I can add my  newest?

  • Since last week, I cannot add more shoes (before I was able to do it). I just delete one and now I can't add another one ...

  • As well it would be nice to select shoes on a per run basis. I use different ones for different routes, and there's not really an easy way to log this info.

  • I would love to be able to sort my shoes by mileage or alhpabet as well.

  • I wish it was easy to see which shoes were used for a run, a filter on your activities would work.

  • I'd also appreciate an initial milage option for shoes. And in addition it'd be good to have the option in th mobile app to choose the pair of shoes that where used for the run.

I would really like if this was possible. I would also like if Strava would comment on this!

  • For everyone asking for initial mileage on a shoe, an easy workaround is to do a manual workout entry for whatever mileage you have on the shoe. So if you you have 20 miles on the shoe do a manual entry for a 20 mile run. Date the workout years ago so it doesn't mess up your current stats. Simple as that. The only thing it will effect is your "All Time" distance.

  • Chad, Thanks for your advice, but if I do this, I'd have that activity doubled in my statistics from my old app and Strava. I can't understand what is so difficult in creating a new field on the website and add this to the actual shoe milage.

  • I guess I don't follow Stefan. Why would it double mileage? This is not a real activity you did. Click the orange + in the top right and then click "add manual entry".  This can be done with the mobile platforms also. Make the year 1899, 1756 or whatever. Making the date before you started tracking workouts with Strava makes it easy to find and delete if needed.

As for why Strava doesn't add an easier way to do this. I don't know. Just trying to help.

I'm new at Strava, considering the paying account and this is really a turn off.

    Thanks

  • Please let us input a start mileage for our shoes. I'm just migrating from Dailymile so all my shoes have accurate mileage which I would like carry on from I'm Strava.

  • And also the opposite, set a date from which the mileage of a new shoe should start counting. This is not always the same date as when the user enters Strava (in my case, I imported many runs from another app).

  • I test and run with a lot of shoes.  My list has at least 40 entries, and it's TOTALLY random.  I wish you could alphabetize this (a simple beginning programmer's exercise). Better yet, allow people to move them up and down by order of priority or even create groups/colors (e.g. by genre).

  • An alphabetical shoe list is a must (it is on the mobile app already).  Please add to the web app.  I also review and test shoes and finding the pair to tag to a run is less than ideal and alphabetizing would be an easy fix.  Thanks!

  • What would also be nice regarding shoe management is being able to add the run to a new pair of shoes that you forgot to add BEFORE the run.  You run in a new pair of shoes, then you get back and you run automatically logs for you, then you realize that you didn't add the shoes first.  Too bad.  Now your run in those new shoes doesn't count because there is no way to add the run after the fact.  This is a bit on the ridiculous side.  Now the mileage on the shoes are off because of a stupid code writing problem.  Dumb.

And the shoes should have some sort of order to them: when added, listed by brand, something.

  • One more thing. Is it possible to rename a model of shoes?

For example, I have two pairs of Nike Pegasus shoes.

In My Gear, it looks really inconsistent and I am not able to change it.

    Nike AIR Zoom Pegasus 34

    Nike Air Zoom Pégasus 32

When I do a change, it automatically gets back (

I would prefer to see something like:

    Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34

    Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 32

  • +1 to some sort of reasoning in the gear order please. It really seems truly random at the moment! They aren't ordered alphabetically by brand or model, numerically by distance or even by date added.
