Better auto-scaling of elevation profile

When showing the elevation of a ride, if flat, the graph shows far too much head room.  I.E. the average elevation in my location is about 650ft, and on a ride only rolling up to 775 the max elevation on the scale is over 1200ft. plus when selecting a part of a ride in analysis I would like to see that part of the ride blown out so it fills the full horizontal space.  Can these improvements be made?

  • Thanks Robert - I like your suggestion here. I've thought of the same thing as well. I'll pass it along!

  • Please include for runs as well. I usually see a scale from 500 - 1300 ft when my runs are +/- 70 ft of 600'. So many times I see a flat line on the graph.

  • Agree - please add this - the graph is not very useful otherwise

  • So as far as I'm aware this has not happened yet, is there any reason for not implementing it? It seems pretty trivial and would be a huge improvement.

  • Same problem here: highest point was about 250 meters.

On the strava website, the elevation profile has a scale from 0 to 1500 meters.

On the graph, my ride looks like a flat ride, which it was not :(

    Can this be fixed please?

PS: don't have this problem in the mobile app (Android), there the scale is correct.

  • Has there been any progress on this? See below, the first image is elevation of an activity while logged in and the second when I look at the activity but not logged in, the second is far more useful.

  • I agree the scale my last route was 0-15000 meters - makes the ride look almost completely flat
