Add "Shoes" to Hike, Walk and Snowshoe activities

I would like to add my shoes in the Hike, Walk and Snowshoe activities, to control the kilometers performed with each shoe.

Also would be nice to add hauling kms that have been made before recording the tracks on Strava (good for new users).

I think it will be useful for many users and very easy to do. Thank you.

  • +1 for this. Would like to see them added to other activities (like snowshoeing) as well.

  • It's should have been then already. We are using shoes for mountain Trail Running so, why not add these shoes to hiking? If someone really wants to track the kilometers on his shoes this should be implemented.

  • Yes. And the same set of shoes should be shared between Walking, Hiking, and Running.

  • Absolutely! This should have been done initially.

I just wondered why my hike shoes are not assigned in the hike activity though I could choose them in my app while finishing the activity.

After looking under strava.com with my computer, I found out that it isn't possible to assign shoes to another activity than running. How sad!

  • Bump.

This is going around in the forums for so long, but still nothing.

Add Shoes to Hike (and more) already!

    :D

  • Strava doesn't care! I always hike (and walk too) in my trail running shoes but according to Strava that somehow doesn't affect my shoes at all.

Strava simply doesn't care about this and dozens of similar requests! I don't care about Strava too and have no desire to pay for the service. Once Strava shows that it cares I'll start paying too!

Please add shoes to hiking. I have a lot of running shoes that i also used when hiking. Many of them has more kilometers hiking than running.

  • My hiking shoes are the same shoes I use for trail running. Let us choose shoes for hikes.

  • I mean seriously, why hasn't this been implemented yet? Most runners hike/walk in the same shoes they run in.

  • i often walk to work in my running shoes and then run home, so I'd love this feature. So now I don't really know how many miles are on my shoes, or I have to ruin my average run split and count all my walks as runs

Strava, so many of your users will be so happy with you if you allow us to add shoes to Walks and Hikes. It's just a software & firmware switch on your side. Please do it. Thank you.

  • It would be great to be able to select my hiking boots when I record a hike.  So many of us still waiting.  Please do something soon.

  • I have to set everything as Runs to get to select the used equipment. Not exactly a big problem, but as far as I remember setting an activity as a walk or a hike will also not compare it against the segments on the route.

  • Sure would be useful to be able to select and track shoes in a walk or hike.  Please consider adding this capability to Strava.

  • I walk/hike not run and it would be great to be able to track these activities .... I put hikes down as 'runs' to get round it for now

  • Yes please this functionality is a no brainier.  Currently my default running shoes are showing up on my Hikes, which means that not only can I not track mileage for my hiking boots, but I the mileage for my running shoes is also skewed.

Please fix this as soon as possible.

    Thnaks.

  • Hi All just back for a 10k walk  and  yep want to see the  total of  my walking shoes ..

noticed my running  shoes are  listed as used for the walk (Asics) .

I recorded the walk with  my  tom tom running watch  so it's  listed  as  a run and shoes  can  be  selected if it's a run.

Save it  as  a run  with the walking shoes  selected and  reopen and  save it  again as  a walk or  a hike  and  there are  your  walking shoes. (  Lowa)
