Display Club Event History

Would it be possible to display past club events on the club page?  It appears that events that have happened in the past are no longer accessible from the club page.

  • This is really necessary to check which route was taken on some activity; who participated or agreed to participate, but did not show up...   Just for tracking purposes that would be good to see also PAST events

  • I thought perhaps I was missing something but surprised that club events aren't listed, it'd be very useful to track the progress and see how active the club is with its activities listed

  • Agreed, it's crazy this feature isn't available, at least to club admins if no one else.  Limits the functionality of clubs.

  • This is now more than 2 years , Strava... many people would not only appreciate what is being asked here.  imagine also what Strava could do with this...  Like we now have the individual movie 2017.strava.com we could then have something by club.  Club members would no longer have to bother making movies / shows of their own, do comparisons and identify a wInner for the year.  It could be shown as a surprise on the last club evening of the year.  Strava for ever...  if you’ re not convinced by now, you’ll never will.

  • This feature really would be extremely helpful to have for clubs. I have recurring events each year and I can't find the club event to reference for verbiage.

  • I had very high hopes on using the groups function to not only connect people, but also to run virtual races. This does not work though without being able to see previous races, so Strava - please fix this!!!

It can't be hard to do technically and it seems like a lot of people are actually requesting this feature

  • I created a club event to help track their activity during a recent charity event.  I had hoped I could review the event history and see how many cumulative miles we covered but was dissapointed to find that this was not possible.

This would be a welcome additional feature to strava club events.

  • Any update on this?  Quite frustrating that Strava never comment on ideas like this, even it was just to say that they're not considering it.

  • More and more people ask about this lately as we're using the club for group rides.

  • As a Cycling Club committee member, we would love to use a feature which could give an indicative time/position within our club races.

The events feature could provide the basis of this for 'athletes who join an event'; however, this would only be worthwhile if past events are visible on a Club Page.

  • yeh i am so surprised that we cannot see the stats for the event /Challenge created for the club, If we can trace the stats then whats the point in creating the event on strava ?

  • +1, really need this feature. I didn't know it doesn't exits actually.
I was trying to get the last event's data but I couldn't and thought that it's weird not to have this kind of historical data in such a great application.

    PLEASE FIX IT!!!

  • Still no word from Strava. Actually past events don't disappear, they are just close to impossible to find. If you have the link of the past event you can still view it. So for example if you are getting e-mail notifications for events, you can go back and click the link.

If those things are archived, it sounds like an easy fix to view past events by date or etc.

  • I've been saving the URLs in advance, but also look in your email box for the subject line:

"[Club Name] invited you to join a club ride"

it seems as long as the club ride was created with at least 3 days in advance an email is sent to club members.

  • Here is a workaround / hack for this issue.

As we know, once the event expires (based on the date), it disappears.

However as noted above all the events are still in Strava and can be found if you have the link.

So all you need to do is locate all the links and display them on your Club Page somewhere.

The obvious place to put these links in in the description of the Club, however there is a character limit for this description and you will soon run out of space if you end up with lots of links.

So the solution is to create a new event and past all the links in there, then add a link in your club description to this event

    Something like this;

First find all the links (check notifications and emails).

Create a new event called "All Events" and paste the links in the description of this new event, then every time you create another new event from now on, copy the link and add it the "All Events" event.

To keep this event active make the date for this event way off into the future so it stays visible on you club page, once the date is reached the event will disappear, so if you want to keep it displayed in the event section, you will have to go into the event in the future and keep pushing the date out.

Now go into your club page and add a link to the "All Events" event in the description of your Club Page, note that now, even if you forget to push the date out in the future of the All Events event, even though the event will disappear from the events section, the link will still work and will still show all the past events.

Unlike events, your Club Page never expires, so that link should stay there forever.

  • In reference to the above workaround, Here is how we have done this on our club page: https://www.strava.com/clubs/597966

Note that I let the event expire so that I don't need to worry about changing the date in the future, so the only place to access the "All Events" event is from the link in the Club Page description, but this works fine.

  • Thanks folks for the suggested workarounds, but come one Strava, 5 years later, surely this is an easy thing to add!
