Much Needed Comprehensive Importing of Swim Metrics

There is a severe lack of Swim detail in Strava imported swim activities. Essential metrics for loyal Strava customers such as lap splits, heart rate, PRs, CRs, etc, etc are all missing. The current swim visuals are very poor indeed. I'm more of a cyclist, but if I feel this aspect of Strava lets me down, I can only sympathise with true swimmers and triathletes.

Swapping to Premier paid membership didn't make any difference in this aspect. Thus, one of the reasons I cancelled my Premier status as have many others. Strava is a great app, but outside cycling and perhaps running, it doesn't cater for much else.

Many have invested in expensive fitness devices that allow measurement of these metrics. Without the ability of Strava to take advantage of these, customers will consider using the device bespoke applications instead. Please make this your next improvement and perhaps you'll gain some custom back in return.

  • I totally agree, if I need to have some more tails about my swimming perfomance than the average pace I need to check on garmin connect. Why strava do not present the whole data available in the gpx file? I know that swimming is a recent inclusion, but there is much to do!

  • This is still a much needed area of improvement.  Pace and lap data are available on Garmin connect for Garmin products. I'd strongly prefer it to be visible on Strava as well so that I don't have to jump back and forth between platforms to analyze my workouts.

  • I completely agree with this. I'm a runner and recently injured myself - as a result I've been swimming exclusively over the last 6-months. While i loved Strava as a running and cycling companion, it's worse than poor at helping me with swimming. That is why I recently cancelled my premium membership. Your service simply doesn't help me as a swimmer. By contrast, Training Peaks offers much more detailed analysis, not to mention helps me overcome the ridiculous hoops Garmin makes us jump through (if you use a 3rd party HRM device like my Scosche Rhythm 24) by auto-merging Garmin .fit files from my pool swim (from my Forerunner 935) with heart rate (HR) data from my Scosche. Turns out I can also use external services (like pwx.raytracer.dk) to export a training peaks .pwx file into a .tcx file that Strava can read... still doesn't improve the analysis offered.

  • Strava - hello - anyone there to respond to these guys, and me - problem is still relevant!!!

I have a very fine Connect stat package, incl HR. Why does Strave tell me that no HR is available?

And why not import all the stats from connect?
