Settings to hide Zwift trainer rides in feed

Is it possible to hide all the Zwift rides within a Strava feed?  It feels like it's turning Strava into a video game.  There should be an available setting to hide Zwift/trainer rides out of the daily feed.

  • Please strava, give us at least the opportunity to have clean Strava clubs who don't need to bother about zwift. I would like to see real rides only on my Strava club, but people are still faking with indoor rides. And it's not only zwift that bothers me. I noticed there are more trainers who lead there indoor activitys to Strava and look like real rides. Seems to me Strava is killing their own spirit on witch the app was based, with all this virtual insanity. It's the same like all these e bikers are killing the Strava leaderboards with their electro shit. Seems to be that most of the cyclists are cheating and only a small amount of real cyclists is left. ....

  • My 10 cents worth - I would like my virtual rides to show up in my Profile page under a separate tab so I can track my activity levels privately.  The virtual rides are in the my feed but no totals anywhere.

At present I get a message from from Strava saying I am a couch potatoe ie my weekly distance is 0 which is not a true reflection of my effort.

I would also like to compare virtual rides to real world efforts. For example I have ridden Alpe D’Huez twice in the real world and several times on my Wattbike via Bkool/ etc. I want to use the data to calibrate my wattbike to real world effort levels. This is all for private viewing/ personal training puproses. My longest real world climb locally takes 10 mins which is not much prep for my Ventoux climb next year.

Any guidance on how to achieve this appreciated

  • I COULD NOT AGREE MORE!!!! I live in Boulder, CO and want to see the people who are running and riding with me during the winter... not sitting in their basements cruising Watopia. This is plain ridiculous.

  • It’s a bloody shame. I’ve been paying a lot for years and instead of listining to it’s customers, Strava is spoiling my timeline with more and more advertisments and I stil cannot choose what activities are shown. I do NOT want so see Zwift, I do not want to see running and swimming. I want to see real, outdoor bike activities. Therefor I’ve decided to stop my paid (“Summit”) account. As soon as this is made possible, I’m going to pay again.

  • Thats not the best solution, but it's quite a nice workaround: Google "elevate for strava". It's a browser plugin (chrome, opera and firefox), so it won't effect the view in your app. But you have several options to modify the web view. You can also exclude rides or runs under a specified distance and you got a lot of extra analysis of your data.

  • Eric - I said the same thing and told Support that's why I was cancelling. Pretty sure no f*s were given. On the upside, I didn't really use any of the premium features, was just glad to support them, and now I'm not missing it and I'm saving money. Plus, my uBlock filters take care of the cruft for me, so it's win win from my point of view.

  • Just adding my voice to the numerous complaints already. Get rid of simulated ride activity in the feed! We want to see real, outdoor riders. Not VR.

  • I think Swift is a great way to motivate static training.  Static training is not riding even if you sweat the same.  I personally find the commingling of results disingenuous, verging on deceptive.

  • @ James. The point here is not if you like zwift or not. It's about how to hide it, if you don't want to see zwift activitys .

  • Alas, I am one more voice complaining about this issue. I’ve been driven away from Strava in the winter time because everyone’s feed is just an avatar, video game ride. Kudos to those who can stomach riding inside but please please don’t believe we want to see a screenshot of cgi and a fake map of where you supposedly went. It’s killing Strava, sigh.

  • Please give us the option to filter zwift. I'm a member of several strava groups and ride in all weathers. Each time I check the groups someone has just appeared near the top after sitting at home on a turbo for a few hours. It might be good for fitness but it isn't real cycling and shouldn't be what Strava is about!

  • Same is here. I have Strava club with people I now from the reality. I don't want to throw them out because they go and ride virtual. Every week there us one on the first place who rode more altitude and km than the rest did. Who rode in deep snow at night outside with minus temperatures. It's not fair that I cannot filter this club as being a reality instead of virtual reality club.

  • It seems that there are now even more virtual rides on Strava. I just saw something called "The Sufferfest". Friend unfollowed.

  • I don't have a strong opinion about the "authenticity" of these workouts.  What I do hate, though, is that they have huge images attached to them which communicate nothing of value at all.   Look at this garbage:

  • Is there any update on this? Why are Zwift ‘miles and elevation’ included in leaderboards and their general totals? When will we have the ability to block Zwift and other house cycling rides? If I wanted to look at an orange squiggle in the ocean I’d buy some crayons.

  • Never going to happen. Strava is partnered with them. Don't get angry just laugh at the silliness. Example: The elevation numbers! They crack me up... I just saw a buddy has 200K "vertical" in the month of January alone! Laughs. That's when I went looking for ways to take the shit out of my feed and found this thread.  My 2¢.. Strava will never be perfect. Remember when you rode for the rights to buy a $130 Strava jersey! That was pretty good to laugh at too. They consistently fuck up my PM data too; to the point I quit looking at it on Strava and went to TrainingPeaks.. where eventually I'll wind up full time because I don't really care if I get 20 kudos from people I've never met.

  • I'm not sure I've seen a more butt-hurt bunch of folks outside of a college safe-space as I do on this thread. Do you guys also unfriend those who post real rides but ridden in fair weather or at less than 250 watt avg?

  • I'd like to see a way to hide virtual or stationary rides in Strava, too. Each to their own, but I'm just interested in outdoor activities. And yes, you can use the Elevate browser plugin to hide such rides. Nevertheless, a solution by Strava itself, which works without browser add-ons and also works in the mobile apps in special would be much appreciated.

But taking a look at how long this issue has been around gives the impression that Strava doesn't really care of their customer's demands, even the paying ones...
