Choose 'cover' photo for each ride

I love the new prominence of photos on the activity feed, however, it would be great to be able to choose the ‘cover’ photo – at present it appears to be that with the earliest time stamp. Great app, many thanks.

    Thanks Peter and Ross,

Yes, this feature has now been released. When uploading photos via the mobile app, tap the photo you wish to highlight in the feed and select the option "Highlight Photo".

    Thanks!

  • Great idea, as I would love this feature too. I use both my phone and a digital camera during my rides, and so some pictures get on Instagram during the ride duration (and instantly linked to my activity), and others are uploaded after the fact to the activity (after a convoluted process of emailing a picture to myself, because there is no desktop photo upload feature.... yet).

Choosing a cover photo would be greatly appreciated!

  • Thanks Ross, a feature to select the photo that shows in the Activity Feed is on our list. No timeline yet, but we're on the same page!

  • Make it so please! :) In the meantime, can you explain how the cover photo is selected? It's definitely not the order in which you add the photos...

  • @Peter, it should be the order in which the photos were taken, i.e. the earliest timestamp will be the featured photo in the feed.

  • Today I discovered Strava have implemented this feature! Yay! Now, what about mentions in comments on the web interface (which is way better than the mobile interface)? ;-)

  • Was this feature removed again? I was able to do it a couple of months ago, but the option now seems to be gone. :(

  • I would like to be able to change or add a photo later. A dog ran in front of me and upset my trike on the shoulder of the highway but unfortunately I didn't have the forethought to take a pic of my skinned bleeding arm at the time with the EMS guy who lived there ignoring my injuries and telling me what a great dog it was, more worried about a lawsuit I guess lol

PS I really like the app although I think the auto pause app needs tweaking, I often forget while walking through stores, etc. or even once I'm sure I stopped it before getting a ride home after rain only to have it restart requiring me to crop the ride. Impossible to do if you walked around a park or mall in the middle of a ride considering you can only crop the beginning and end of a ride. I also have a few pics of an ex-girlfriend that I don't really want on my latest rides. Still really like strava though. Thanks! please delete these posts after reading I really like to restrict the amount I use my full name on the internet thanks :)
