Moto 360 data is wrong in Strava

Hi, I use moto 360 sport native app for runs and sync them to strava. My last run (15k) was uploaded with 11k and all lap paces wrong (from 0.3 to 13.0). Is there a way to re-upload it to see if data will be correct? There are several straight lines in strava (over water, buildings) , but on moto body the track is correct.

Are there any recent examples of this issue which you could share in the form of an activity page link?

  • I also have this issue. Today I rode my Bike for 25km, but strava shows only 22km.

    Below is moto body screenshot:

And here is Strava ride screenshot:-

There should be a way to export gps data from motobody app.

  • I'm also using Moto 360 Sport, syncing to Strava and getting the same errors. For me it seems that Strava is not recognizing points in the activity when it was paused on the watch, which I understand should not be treated as "moving time" in Strava. So I end up with straight line leaps between points where the watch was paused and everything gets thrown off. I'd be interested in a response from Support too. Thanks!

  • I'm not using my Moto 360 any more, mainly because of this issue, but here's a previous activity where the issue appears. You can see it at mile 12: https://www.strava.com/activities/667877404. The watch was actually paused between the two points of that straight line.

  • I've also had the same problem just today.   On the watch and Moto Body my run is 2.96 miles, however after syncing to Strava it is cut way short to 1.9 miles.

Pace and lap splits are way off:

  • My Moto Body data is also wrong when it is uploaded to Strava. I've flagged the runs with the incorrect data and will continue to do so.

  • I've found that it is mostly due to the Mody Body running app.   I've started using Ghrostracer which seems to capture the run GPS data much better.

Haven't used the Strava app on the watch as I think it is sub par.

  • I have this truncated run issue as well  on both my phone and a moto360 in discreet mode. I know the distances and have verified them in several ways but always end up with truncated runs. I ran my local Parkrun last Saturday. according to Strava I ran 4.2 k but everyone else (including my pacer) ran 4.9. This negates the software in my opinion. Any update on this?

  • I just started using a Moto 360 (not the Sport model) which has no GPS, and was doing fine starting activities, pausing, saving, from my watch. The recording appeared to still be happening on my Android phone, though.

It was working until yesterday, when an app update occurred. I appreciate that I no longer have to swipe around to start/stop/pause, and that my heart rate data is now included, but this activity has a really bad GPS track as a result of the "upgrade."

Due to the jaggedness of the track, it shows 17.6 miles, when I actually went more like 11.2. Here's an approximation of my actual route:

It also, unlike other recent recordings which I also controlled from my watch, says the device is "Moto 360 Sport" instead of "Strava Android App."

  • Today I had for the first time an issue with data synchronization between Moto body and Strava. Even if my Motorola Moto Sport recorded correctly the activity the data are all wrong even the GPS signal il different!
On Moto Body is fine while on Strava looks like I was running on the sea!
