Add Photos from the Strava Website

Some of us have a windows phone, and while my first preference would be for an officially supported windows phone app with the full feature set, I doubt that is coming any time soon.  As such, it would be nice if we could add pictures from our own files from the web site rather than having to deal with Instagram.  I don't always upload Instagram photos in the time window allotted.  Truth be told, the only reason I have an Instagram account is so I can have my ride pictures show up in strava.  I would probably just close my Instagram account if you added manual file upload for ride pictures to the web site.

  • @Christopher H, some of us don't have phones that run the Strava app, so that's not possible.

Note to self: Don't work for someone who doesn't listen to the problem I'm explaining...

  • Thanks for adding this feature. It's working for me now (posting photo's from web interface).  It looks like photo captions still need to be added though phone app.

  • @ruth cunningham Really, no smartphone in 2018?  Or a non android or non iPhone?  Mine cost far less than $400 BTW, but $400 is really a bargain considering you have a portable computer that you can fit in your pocket.

@Chris Bell Who's going to pay you a salary to listen to you tell them your problems, that you can and should be solving, for your pay?  Especially when it comes to making your tech compatible with your line of work.  Don't want to buy an iPhone or android?  Too bad because there's a line of people around the block who already got em and are ready for business.

  • Yea, thanks strava!

One thing I noticed is that when I add a manual activity, I cannot immediately add a photo. However, if I save the activity, and then go back to edit it, now I can add a photo. Just one small additional step, no problem.

  • So, now the $64k question: am I the only one having trouble getting this to work? I've only been able to upload a couple pictures in several dozen attempts.

  • Working for me - would be good if you could edit the description of the photo AND recognise GEOLOCATION - I would like to take pictures with a camera (no smart phone for me) and then use this site to add geolocation - https://www.geoimgr.com/

  • STRAVA kids ... thankyou thankyou thankyou for this new feature. Fabulous. Waited so long, watching this thread. Finally noticed people chatting about using it, and found it under the PEN icon EDIT event ... tried the CLICK TO UPLOAD technique, browsed to a 133KB cropped event JPG, and it uploaded. Am using Firefox 52.8.0 (older version) on VISTA x64 (no longer supported) and it is working like a dream, at least one photo at a time. Well done, team! Hope my comment gives others hope that a small photo, one at a time, might be uploaded using this technique.
