Cropping a group activity

After cropping a run that was recognized as a group activity, it does not show up in this group activity any more. I only crop the last 100m, but even then it's not linked any more.

  • Hi Mark,

We're aware of an issue that un-groups activities when an activity is cropped. We're working on it!

  • Yes, same issue here. Cropped only a very small part. Now, the group activity is gone, and activities are shown as separate ones.

  • Yup, me too. I cropped a tiny bit off the front and back, and now it doesn't show riding with others, even though the criteria is met, as shown on the flyby: https://labs.strava.com/flyby/viewer/#2054116895?c=dr4eb0q5&z=E&t=1SBfQN

  • Don't worry, they are working on it. The original request is only a year old. Based on other requests they are working on, in a mere 4 years or so, they might deal with it.

  • FYI: If you download the GPX, delete the original activity and import the GPX, it will show who you rode with. Do that before you get any kudos or comments. :)

  • Did anyone ever get a satisfactory resolution to this issue? I know I didn't!

  • This issue really needs looking at. Cropping rides not only removes me from any groups but also affects segment times. It seems to have got much worse since the introduction of the cropping function to the mobile app. Analysis of cropped rides reveals big inaccuracies in the time-stamps, explaining why riders are removed from groups.
