Cropping Indoor Activities

Maybe I am missing something, but Strava does not appear to allow cropping extra data off of activities that do not have GPS data associated with them (i.e. Treadmill run or Spin bike ride). Was this an intentional move? I would sincerely like to be able to crop excess data off the end of indoor activities for those instances when someone distracts me from ending my activity while I am inside.

  • 5 years ago they said not at this time. That seems to indicate that maybe it was something that might happen. But apparently at some point they either

B: Gave up because they don't care

  • Def support this! Can't see that it takes too much implementation effort either.

  • Kinda ridiculous and sad that they don't care about those users that train using heartrate and time instead of GPS data.

  • I agree. Its very irritating that these app companies get going, build a paying base, and then stop developing their tools address more than what they have statistically seen is their paying audience, ignoring the fact that to grow they might want to add these features to encourage those who do not primarily run or bike to also start paying them... I saw in their Summit app, that things like heatmap only cover running and biking for example.

  • Sometimes I track my workout and forget to stop the activity.   Would like to be able to crop out the end of my "workout" to have it reflect accurately and to provide an accurate average heart rate.   If you forget to stop and leave strava running, it looks like your workout is hours long with a very low average heart rate.   Please add the cropping feature to non-GPS Workouts!

  • You can use the Splitting Tool to split the trainer session into separate parts.  After you save it, you can delete the "dead time section."  Splitting lets you divide the session into 2 or 3 sections which provides a bit of flexibility (if you're dead time was on the front, back or middle).  I just tried it for the first time since I was unable to Crop the extra time at the end of my trainer session.
