Strava on Galaxy Watch Active dies on notifications

I've been successfully using the Strava app on my Galaxy Watch Active multiple times per week for 3 months. However, it's been extremely unreliable over the last few weeks. If I receive a notification on the Galaxy Watch Active while the Strava app is recording, the notification kills the Strava app and the recording is irrevocably lost. This affects most of my runs, because I invariably receive a notification of some sort while I'm running. The Strava app needs to recover from notification interrupts more gracefully instead of dying.

  • Same thing happens to me. I have to use Nike+ on my phone as a backup in case Strava dies.

  • I worked around the problem by enabling Do Not Disturb mode for the expected duration of my run. A couple weeks later I downloaded an update to the Strava app on the watch that seemed to fix the problem, so the case can be closed.

  • Scott do you know which version you're on? I'm on 1.1.3, but afraid to update to 1.2.0 because the reviews have been very bad.

  • I'm still on v1.1.3 as well. That's the version where it appeared to start working. I haven't updated to version 1.2.0 yet either.
