Can you add Fat bikes as a tag?

It screws up the timing as riding the same trials in the winter is much faster than in the summer. Not a big problem in California but it is here in Canada.

  • It is probably too late to make that change since there is already so much historical data in the system that does not have the different designation attached. There is no way to go back and make any adjustment to that data.

Personally, I like that they are not separated. Here in Alaska, some trails are faster on a snow bike in the winter, others are faster on a mountain or cross bike in the summer. It just depends on the specific trail. It makes chasing KOMs and other top times more interesting if you know you have to take advantage of certain seasons depending on the trail you are riding.

  • Jason Lamoreaux, I agree about how winter vs summer trail riding works, but they really need to separate Ride into AT LEAST 2 categories. I don't think anyone would argue that the energy output between road cycling and fatbiking per distance is dramatically different. I don't care about past data, although it would be fairly easy for individuals to go back and separate manually based on season and trail/route.

  • I would love a fat bike tag. I ride a lot in the summer and winter - 2 different bikes of course. And it would be great to assign equipment to it. Even if you had a misc tag that would be great.

  • Fatbike flag would be great or at minimum some way of filtering out the leaderboard on seasons (lets say may-nov) for summer.
