Wahoo App no longer syncing cadence/speed Info to Strava

I run the Wahoo Fitness app on my Android phone and then sync it to Strava. This has been my setup for a year now. All of a sudden the cadence/speed data isn't syncing. To be clear, the cadence/speed is in the Wahoo app. It just isn't syncing with strava. All I'm getting is HR and GPS.

Did something change?

  • Same here. But also pace and segments missing.

I've sent a support request but yet to hear back.

  • Actually that's not right, sorry. I do have cadence and speed.

  • I also am using wahoo fitness to track my bike rides.  When syncing to Strava, I get heart rate data only. (Aside from the map and total distance)  How do I get Speed, climbing, and cadence and  the other data that Wahoo tracks to sync as well?  As heart rate data is required (other than perceived exertion) for "Fitness" tracking, it seem pretty silly that Strava no longer allows direct connected heart rate data to their app.  Especially since it was capable in the past.  IF I DIDN'T HAVE SO MUCH HISTORY IN STRAVA, I WOULD BE SWITCHING TO A DIFFERENT APP!!

  • I have been testing Wahoo Fitness and it adds cycling sessions as Workout and I have to manually change it to "ride" in Strava. Really annoying.

  • I have the same issue as Raino A.

It worked perfectly until a couple of weeks ago. Now all my activities post as Workout and I have to manually change them to Run or Ride as appropriate.

I've been emailing Wahoo Support, too, but they haven't figured it out yet.

  • Can confirm that what Raino and Evan report is also my issue.

  • Ok,

So it is not just me then. I wonder if it has something to do with overloaded Strava servers. At least there was some changes to segments in Zwift due to capacity concerns. I have also noticed it takes longer than usual for the KOM lists to update. They might have turned this off for a reason.

PS. Otherwise the Wahoo app isn't half bad. I like the great ant+ support on Android

  • Having the same issues as of recently. After a finished ride the ride syncs to strava but a bunch of details are missing, like avg speed and segments. When I manually delete the ride on strava, export the ride in the companion app and manually upload it on the strava website if shows all the corresponding data. Totally in the dark here what the problem is because the actual data is in de ride wahoo records, but somehow doesnt show up in strava.

  • Had the same problem and there was an easy fix. If you go into the fitness app, got to your profile page, under authenticated apps deauthenticate Strava and then authenticate it again. You then have to go into Strava and give Wahoo permission there. Common problem between these apps.

  • Similar problem here; I use Wahoo to track speed/distance/cadence on my bike trainer, but Polar for HR. The Polar data uploads automatically... the Wahoo data has to upload manually, but is no longer appearing at all in Strava. Last time it did work was on April 9th, when it was aligned with the Polar HR data no problem.

I've tried revoking and re-creating the permissions in the Apps with no impact. No ideas what else to try...

If I can't get the data to combine, not much real point in using Strava... makes me glad I didn't pay for a premium service level!

  • I saw an article yesterday about the backlogs these apps and sites are having as all of these people with nothing else to do are signing up. I wonder how many of you have free versus premium accounts. Could be preference given to paid accounts on the uploads. After doing what I mentioned in my first post mine are back to instantly uploading including my Rouvy and BKool cycling apps.

I've manually disabled the authorization several times but every time it keeps doing this, so that doesnt fix my issue. Tryed several things, resetting sensors, resetting app, reconnection, different settings in app, powersaving options in android. Nothing worked so far.

Allthough im expecting this to be a wahoo issue though. Because when I download the .fit file and upload it manually on the strava website everything goes well. Maybe just wahoo doesnt sync it correctly to strava or something.

  • Same problem here. Since may 17th I no power is shown in my Wahoo Elemnt uploads.

I have to delete them and upload the fit file manually. Annoying!

Access revoke and giving permission again I tried out.
