How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • Allow me to echos the requests to add 'Walking' to the club types.  In fact, it would make all kinds of sense if the club type list matched the activity option list when one goes to record an activity.

  • Hi - I am admin for a small Strava bicycle club of professionals in San Francisco, and it gets pretty competitive to see who can do the most miles, most elevation, highest average speed, etc. in a week. Since winter has hit I see many more people doing virtual rides, and while virtual miles are still miles, the intention of this club it to get people out and about regardless of the weather. I don't think someone's miles in a heated basement watching TV should count in the same category as the person who got up early, got out in the rain and rode up a mountain.

I'd like to request a simple set of check boxes in the club admin that could include or not include certain activities. This would not affect the user's stats who is doing a virtual ride, it just wouldn't tally them in the club leaderboard if excluded. Examples would be: exclude virtual miles, exclude ebike miles, or maybe more simply, just select the types of activities that the club leaderboard should track.

    Thanks,

We are currently working on some great new features and updates that we are excited to share with you all this summer.

  • Can we please the ability to create clubs based on sports other than running, cycling or tri?  Those are great, but would be good to have a skimo club for example that shows activity totals from skimo/backcountry (time, distance, vert..).  Thanks!

  • I would like to include walking on the leaderboard. It is not cool not to recognize walking as relevant. Please fix this. Should not be difficult

  • Please can you add walking as an activity in clubs, many have already requested this! We are having to log our walks as runs so we can appear on the leader board :(

  • Hi Dennis, thank you for responding to our suggestions on behalf of Strava. Would there be any chance we could see Walking/Hiking included as a Club activity earlier than in summer? And what about seeing monthly Club reports?

I think that everybody would appreciate to see which of our suggestions have been already added to your roadmap of updates. Thanks for considering it. Much appreciated.

  • Hi Dennis (Strava employee) We aren't being patient!  We are basically being ignored and getting frustrated.

Even if you have big plans for the summer that doesn't address the concerns we have at present, so many people simply want walking adding to the leader boards for clubs. Is there any reason this cant be done whilst your working on your big plans!

I have people leaving our club because of this issue and joining other apps.

  • Same as that Roy. People just not bothering signing up when they are told they have to record walks as runs in order to appear on the leaderboard.

In the U.K. the number of walking events, charity fundraisers etc... seems to be booming. That’s thousands of people doing a lot of training/preparation who will never be runners, cyclists, triathletes. Potentially thousands of new subscribers.

  • As previously mentioned by others, could we have the ability to chose the activity type or types for a club?
So that, for example, a paddleboarding club could select that activity and only that activity appears in its leader board.
Some clubs have distance challenges each month and the leader board does not count this activity. So currently the leader of the board is the person that has cycled or ran the most and may not even have paddled at all.
Currently it is very difficult for whoever may be running a challenge to quickly and accurately get the information that they require with the strava evidence on offer.
I have heard from paid subscription members that they thought that by people paying for strava that these sorts of little improvements would be made quicker due to the extra funding.

  • On the mobile app, only 4 clubs are shown in the profile tab. You have to tap All Clubs to see more. It would be great to be able to manually select which 4 clubs are shown in my own profile. As it is, it seems somewhat random (or perhaps, the 4 clubs I joined earliest).

  • Please could you advise how I can go about selecting other activities other than running or cycling on our clubs leaderboard? I would like to show a lot more activities like rowing / paddling to count to towards the leaderboard please otherwise it excludes some of my members and what they contribute towards the club.

  • Hi As many have asked before annual totals would be great. This would be good as a club as we could post comments of how as a club we have travelled around the world by the end ofnthe year. This would be great team motivation and also show how during these unprecedented times a reasonably new running club has been able to continue to keep in touch with there members.

Additionally the weekly totals are currently distance, time, and climb. Could there be something else added like most activities recorded? This is good as some runners would never be covering such mileage but may still appear on the leaderboards and increase motivation. Some other ideas may include comparisons to previous weeks. All of these will help see new members progress. Also would it be possible to have a new member symbol for the first few weeks. Where we are not meeting up some new members may not recieve the welcome the club would provide and it is very hard to stay inspired without the support.

  • Many people are asking why multi sports cannot be broken out in a club.  I operate a charity working with adults who have learnng disabilities and many volunteers.  I wanted to offer walking, running and cycling in the club.  However, this is not really possible inside Strava right now.  I have to set up separate clubs for running and cycling in order to get meaningful leaderboards, and there is no option to have walking as the primary sport!  I really feel that Strava are being too slow to respond to the many requests and position themselves as the go to app for all things sport logging.  They are missing a trick here.  Muck around much longer and someone will come out with a better app that will steal all their clothes.  Take note please.

  • Strava club member list for our run club is not alphabetically sorted, first few pages appear to be in order of most recently joined the club page, with the remaining in alpha order.

Can the club functionality have some sort of mechanism to sort by name alphabetically maybe also with a filter of some kind so that we can find lapsed members easier.

  • I want to set up a club to see how far my colleagues can walk in March. Don't want running or cycling just walking for one month. I see plenty of similar requests but no replies. Am I looking in the wrong place!?

  • Can you please add more activities that will count towards a club's total for clubs to choose from.

Right now there is only running, cycling, triathlon, and other. You could also add walking, inline skating, hiking, skiing, swimming, etc.

For example I would like my club to have running and walking as our activities. This will make the club more accessible for those who can't run.

  • It would be helpful if club admins could manage the club member list by sorting (alphabetically, membership date, country, etc.) and searching for a particular club member.

  • Would it really be that difficult to allow a club to be set up as just a walking club or any other activity type for that matter? Especially seeing as so many people have taken up the paid membership? At the moment I'm not sure if I'll renew mine.

  • It would be nice to have all activities counted on a club leaderboard but measured by their intensity score. This way even walking could be included - it would just add very little to intensity numbers.

  • I'm a little bit disappointed with the lack of engagement by the Strava team here. The page has been set up by Strava specifically to gather users 'Club' requirements. The vast majority of the requirements are to add other sports to the leaderboard.

There are 4 options for clubs; running, cycling, triathlon or 'other'. The Strava team has stated that 'other' only includes Swimming, Running and Cycling. What is the difference between 'other' and Triathlon?

The 'other' setting is surely just a filter...is it a huge job to remove any activity filters for 'other'? This would go at least some way to providing what users are clearly clamouring for here?

  • Please allow us to select which activities can be on the leaderboard.  Not just ride, run and swim is important to clubs.

  • Subject: Events within clubs...

I am an events organiser within a charity and we are starting to use Strava more as a form of support for our runners. There are two things that would be beneficial when creating an event within a club...

    1) Allowing an event end date and time. There are more and more running activities taking place that last more than a single day (i.e. virtual running challenges that last a whole month). This change in how people engage runs should be reflected within Strava.

    2) Events remaining in club until deleted. We used Strava for our first ever virtual run last year and created the event within the club. We had great engagement from our participants, but we wanted to go back into event later to review said engagement, but the event had disappeared. Events should remain visible and accessible to the club admins until such time they remove the event...or at least having an option as set up to keep or delete event after its end date/time.

    Thank you

  • Does Strava monitor and respond to questions on this forum? Would be great to know you are working on this functionality or if not it would be good to know that as well so I can look for a different platform for what we need.

  • I agree with everyone, I would love to be able to choose the activities that count towards club leaderboards, not everyone runs or cycles! And why do the Strava team not engage more with this forum, why bother creating it, or is it just a tick box exercise? I will be looking for a different app I think, nothing looks like it's being resolved here!

  • More options for recurring club events.

My running club meets each week and runs a route taken from a fixed list.  I'd like to be able to set up an event that occurs on week 1 of each year running Route #1, an event in the 2nd week of the year running Route #2 etc.  But the recurring event pull down only gives my options to repeat every 1,2,3 or 4 weeks.
