  • Hi there, I do have a feature request for goals on Strava; I would love to see non-segment based goals added.

For instance, that we could simply add the goal of running or riding a certain distance within a certain time, e.g. a 10k in less than 40 minutes. It would be a nice way of putting a goal for a coming race or as a training target for times where few races are available.

And it allows some athletes maybe to take on some goals in these times of covid-restrictions, where favorite segments might not be accessible.

  • For as great as Strava is, the Goals functionality is shockingly sparse. It's great that we can set Hours and Distance goals, but what about # of Activities and Elevation Gain?

Also, when setting an Annual Goal you should have option to automatically create Weekly Goals that add up to the Annual with whatever time is left in the year. So if at the start of the year I set a goal of 600,000 feet of gain, it should allow me to automatically set the weekly goal of ~11,539 feet of gain (600,000/52).

  • I'd like to ask that Strava add the ability to do a Goal of total distance and total evaluation gain in a year over all sports. I Ski, bike, run, hike, climb, and do many other sports. Total evalation gain through the year is a great way for me to track efforts. Total distance is also really cool to see.
Obviously Strava tracks these as i get a great year end summary that show these stats. I'd merely like to set a goal and track my progress on that goal throughout the year.
An example is that I'd like to set a goal of 750,000ft of elevation gain this year. that is across all activities and various sports.

  • The weekly/annual goals on the homepage seem to exclude e-bike rides, but the mileage from my e-bike rides shows up in the same box in the bar charts as distance.  on my profile page, the e-bike mileage IS included in my annual totals.  last year the home page showed me at ~1650 mi, so i was sure i was way short of my goal.  my actual annual total put me at 1998 out of my 2000 mi goal, which was a bit disappointing when i got my "year in sport" email.

This year so far its easy to see the bug - i've had one e-bike ride and the rest were indoor or outdoor regular rides.  see screenshots.

Bug fix would be to either be consistent throughout the site - either include/exclude everywhere.

Feature request would be to include e-bike rides in weekly/annual goals on home page.  I would like it to be included as e-bike commuting can be a big part of the goal.  if its not included, i'll just stop tagging my rides as e-bike, but that will mess with leaderboards.

  • I'd like to be able to set a one-off goal based on distance/time. For example, I want to walk 30 miles in the next 9 days. Or 100 miles in the next 4 weeks. This would allow people who don't follow a weekly/monthly schedule of training track goals.

Currently, I can only create weekly/monthly/yearly goals.

It's a small difference to the 'Add Goal' page. The 'Sport' and 'Type' are fine, but the 'Frequency' is limited. There needs to be a way to add a custom time frame.

  • Our small company is searching for a movement motivation / tracking app, that would allow us to setup goals for a team.

For example a distance-based goal, for a team as a whole, for a period of time (for example 1 month, or 3 months). And which would allow to recalculate the different activities, into this common metric (for example: for cycling activities, the distance would be divided by 3, when contributing to the common team goal).

The existing strava clubs implementation does not allow for neither - automatically summing up metrics for the whole club (with support of the abovementioned recalculations across different sport types), over a period of time; nor setting up of a summary goal for all members of a club for a period of time.

  • I want create elevation goals. It will allow me to do make sure I reach weekly elevation goals when training for ultras.

I want to input a training plan.  Add a large chunk, 3-6 month weekly mileage and elevation blocks, all at once.  I don't want to set a new goal every week, what a hassle.  I want to see the long term plan for my training, like what I write out on a blank calendar and would like to input it into strava.  An example of when I needed this is training for ultras.

I honestly feel like I can't use this app for training, but only for analyzing afterwards.

  • Is it possible to set a combined walk/run goal? If not, can I do a separate walk goal? I did not see that as an option.  Thanks

  • I would love to see goals for clubs. I have a small club of my close friends, and it would be great to set a goal of, for example, running 10 miles per week. It will allow us to see each other's progress on the goal and keep accountable with each other to meet the goal we set.

  • If I set a ride to ‘e bike’ it is not added to my annual total mileage. If I set it as ‘ride’ it is. What’s going on and is there a fix for this problem?

  • I would like to set a separate walk goal. A distance goal per unit of time (i.e. 10 miles in 1 week, 200 miles in 2 months, 1000 miles in 1 year etc.)

  • I would like to see eBike rides included in my weekly/yearly goals.

These are personal goals that only I see and am interested in.

I don't understand why they are not included in goals but are included in all of the Strava Challenges.

  • How do I make my mileage goals private?

  •  I would like to be able to see walking data (like you can easily see run, ride, swim data). The reason that it is important is because many people, like me or my parents, also have non-running goals, but would love to be able to set walking goals and see those stats summarized too. This would allow me to track my progress and total walking mileage in a meaningful way. I use Strava to map/track my walks regularly, but the review data and to see progress is not as streamlined for running, biking and swimming. Maybe you could opt-in to what activities were important to you (e.g. I don't swim so I don't care about those metrics, but I do walk a lot and run occasionally, so I would like to see those as their own individual activities.

  • I would like to be able to see monthly distance goals on the website.  I can set it in the Android app, but the website only shows weekly and yearly (see the screenshot by Pete Augensbergs above).

  • Let us have private goals on private Strava segments. Or at least private goals on public Strava segments. Or how about a public goal that doesn’t expire the moment you achieve the goal by way of a 15 mph tailwind one day.  We have been asking for this for years.

  • Hi Team

I have been a Strava user since May 2011 and have just got a new road e-bike as I now 73.  I am selecting e-Bike rides since getting my new bike and am missing all the data I have been used to viewing after each ride for distance and segments etc.,. I have just done my 200 klms this week and it is not recorded.

Can it these be included under an e-bike category.  E-bikes are not a free ride as one still has to pedal.

I hope this can be included for future upgrades and/or for personal use only.

Thank again for a great App.

    Cheers

    Alla  (Sterling) Moss

  • It would be good to see the results for each distance milestone in a run etc so that even if it’s not a pb or silver or bronze the user can have an idea of performance on that route rather than having to work it out manually. For example I have just done a marathon and it wasn’t my best but I would like to know where things started slipping. So to see the 5k, 10k, half marathon, 30k and full marathon times would be really helpful.

  • I want to be able to set Weekly Goals for future weeks, not just the current week. It will allow me to create my forward-looking training plan within Strava, and plan out my training in advance. The reason that is important is, like many athletes on Strava, I use it to track individual workouts that are part of a long-term training plan. Without the ability to input a forward-looking, week-by-week training plan in Strava, it really is only useful as a backward-looking tool. I currently need to use an excel spreadsheet outside of Strava to plan out workouts, weekly training blocks, and mileage goals separately. Thanks!

  • I found that if you change the run type to RACE and then go into race analysis - it will show the splits 5k / 10k / 15k etc all the way to 40k and teh time between each split.  A good way to see the timings :)

  • I would like Strava to allow me to establish my own goals so that I can accurately track my fitness and strave can stop giving me inaccurate feedback.

Alternatively, Strava could also build in support for workout evaluative comments based upon my selection of one or another training approach: Phil M., HITT, etc.

Example: I train using a Phil M. approach. Strava clearly has no idea how this works because when my heart rate is kept low over several miles, Strava tells me my effort was low that day. Not correct. My effort was (possibly) perfect that day. My goal was a run where my HR never exceeds a specific value that I track while running.

(Gratuitous comment: it often seems to me that Strava has grown based upon support for athletes or wanna-be athletes. That's fine for getting started. And because you can scale globally, it may have even convinced you it's the right path generally. I'm not sure that's true. Soon, Strava may need to "cross the chasm" and begin supporting fitness for the vast majority of us that train regularly, but care less about segment achievements and far more about improvements in our relative fitness.)

  • Please allow me to include my ebike miles in my annual mileage goal. I couldn’t figure out why I am so far behind my goal and then I realized that none of my ebike miles are counting.

  • Hey Brad Pearson -

E-bike, Handcycle, Velomobile, and Wheelchair activities do not count towards Ride goals since August 2020. You can now create separate goals for these sport types from the mobile app and all your previous activities will count towards that goal instead.

You can read more about setting goals here: https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918687-Goals-on-Strava

  • Hello.  New to Strava.  I use Strava mobile and web for cycling and walking only.  Strava said to create a new goal for walking.  I did that on my iPhone, and walking now shows.  However, that change is not reflected on Strava web.  The only option I have is for cycling goals.  "Run" is there, but I don't need it, and cannot delete it.

All my walks show up as activities, with routes and all other data, but since I have no walk goals, there is no summary in the "weekly" section.

Anyone have an idea on how/if I can do this, or do I just live with it?

    Thanks.

  • I would like for the Strava dev team to finally add the ability for users to set and track weekly and yearly ELEVATION goals. Mileage, time and elevation data is already tracked so why are there only goals for Mileage and elevation. How hard is it to copy and edit the SQL queries that track mileage and time and replace mileage and time data with elevation/climbing data?

If the decision makers at Strava can't understand why users (especially cyclists and hikers) would value the ability to set elevation goals, then new decision makers need to be found.

  • I would love to see a weekly, monthly, and yearly running elevation goal. Elevation per week is key to training for trail runners and likely those running hill repeats within their training. I would like to see this displayed with an icon on the Dashboard "This Week" section and receive a notification/tag when I have reached my elevation goal.
