  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

  • Need Easier Editing of Gear

Currently users must log into strava.com to switch from their default pair of shoes to another choice. For those of us who rarely us the online portal, this is really inefficient. And because sometimes I forget to do so for a week or so, I often forget which which run I used which shoes.

This is important because many of us use the km's to help keep track of when to get a new pair. In addition, with sports injuries, sometimes physio's and doctors will ask how many km's are on your shoes to help identify issues. Because I am not an elite athlete, I don't have this down to a science.

Gear use info might also be useful for your corporate partners? Maybe?

  • In support of this request to allow Garmin running power
    https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360073465892/comments/360013547192?mobile_site=true

I draw your attention to this Strava post about it.
    https://www.strava.com/clubs/231407/posts/9021054

Please allow Garmin data as you currently allow data from other watches

  • Here is a feature request that I know has been brought up before (on the old forums) that apparently didn't make any traction. Support TRAIL RUN as an activity. Strava has walk, run, hike, road cycle, and mtn bike, why not trail running. It would be wonderful to be able to differentiate between the activities especially for those of us that run more than one surface. A simple fix, and requested frequently, so why not enable this?

  • Please add another column to the "laps" view on running activities in partocular. This column should have the cumalative time at the end of that lap, eg

    lap 1 5 mins,

    lap 2 10 mins

    etc

The reason I want this is to be able to easily add my (not)Parkrun 5k time. I usually run more than 5k so I have to work out my time manually or look at Garmin connect.

Even better would be to have stats on fastest 1k, 1mile, 5k etc in a particular run!

  • For the cycling heat-maps please allow e-bikes to be included, have switched to an e-bike and now my rides logged via a WAHOO Roam no longer appear on my heat-map, means the feature is now totally useless to me.

  • Hi

Think your heart wheel is a bit poor. Please replace by a better graph where zones are separated by different colors over the distance or timeline. Also Let's have at least two zone setups. One for running and one for riding and with manual entries for the zones, max minus rest setup and standard default. As it is now zone setup in Strava override setup in Garmin which has 3 options for zone setups

    Thanks

  • Would be nice to have the heart rate analysis (ie 'time in zones') available for all sports.  Currently I only see it for cycling & running.  It does not display for nordic skiing or indoor rowing.

  •  Any way to add VAM and GAP to hiking? Hikers do ascend rated climbs and VAM and GAP would allow hikers, climbers (mountaineers) to evaluate if they are getting stronger on the verticals where it counts or just walking faster on the flats and downhills. Obviously they have speed sections on the map, but that doesn't give you are legitimate idea of what your actual improvements are for vertical ascent.

Yes, I know, just put all your hikes as runs...except I only run sprints, and I don't want Strava c0-mingling my runs and hikes. If strava would just accept that it started out as a cycling or running or whatever platfoorm but it's time to toss in the towel and expand features to  hikers ,climbers and other mountain athletes (and all sorts of other non triathlon sports) it could grow it's base a lot more. This stubborn idea that we are a running plattform is holding Strava back. I'm currently looking at Sport Tracks for better data management/analysis

  • It would be good to have Pilates as an option in exercises -- I practice both yoga and pilates, and they are very definitely not the same.

  • Downhill Mountain Bike Mode

We need a Downhill Mountain Bike mode. This mode would automatically not count shuttle/lift mileage. Whether it counts it separately or not at all doesn't matter.

This is important because when you record a ride where you are riding lifts or shuttling, your ride gets flagged for being in a vehicle but you can't crop it because the vehicle portions are not just at the start and end. The ride gets flagged and causes all of the legit times that were done on the downhill portion to not count, and they should. It won't even count toward my own PR, and it should be able to count toward leaderboards.

  • Feature request:
When joining a McMillan plan provided by strava it would be useful if this plan was then imported to the training calendar. This would allow users to see all there information in one place.
Also it would be helpful if strava automatically worked out the required pace zones for the workouts by using pre-existing data, (for example best estimated run times which is located on their profile,) and incorporated the pace/zones into the workout plan for you rather then just stating 10km pace.
Also an estimated fitness/freshness to be displayed on the fitness and freshness for the upcoming runs via the plan.

  • Training/Analysis Graph Improvements

The web app allow switching between time and distance for the x-axis of the graphs but the Android and iOS apps do not (unless I missed this option) and instead assume distance is preferred when for most graphs time for the x-axis is more useful.  E.g.

    • Cadence/distance : I think time speed at a given cadence is much more relevant that distance covered at a given cadence.
    • HR/time : Time spent at a given HR is much more useful as distance covered at a given HR.
    • Power : Same argument as above.
    • Elevation/distance :  This is fine as it shows the gradient of the slope.  elevation/time is also useful as rate of climb/progress.
    • Speed/distance : Time and distance are both components of speed to either way the graphs are fine.

  • There are almost no running websites that ignore Stryd/watt for Garmin  runners as religiously as you guys. I think your customers have asked you to add Stryd support since 2017... why do you even bother to ask your customers for new features when this no-brainer has escaped you for 3 years? It's in the fit-File, Strava already has Watt support. Even my completely incompatible  crosstrainer shows watts on Strava, the Polar and Stryd combo works, every other website has managed to implement this within weeks/months.  I fail to see why Strava cannot.

  • Future request: Would it be possible to add Training Log possibility to choose results shown by weeks(already existing), months and years. Then it would be possible to compare activities by km or hours, month on month and year on year. It helps to see a big picture in long term, are you more active then past years or not.

  • Hello !
    How about ORIENTEERING ?
I am from Latvia, orienteering is a popular sport in our country.
Many of our club members have also joined STRAVA
We hope to see your sport!
However, it is not just running.

  • Feature request:

Expand statistics past only biking, running, and swimming and include all sports' historical data as well as include gear for all sports. The ability to look at statistics for past years regarding biking, running, and swimming is great and it would be amazing to include this functionality to all sports. In particular, I backcountry ski and would love to be able to see totals for past years, my longest ski, my biggest climb, and be able to add gear to log miles on.

    Thanks!

  • I want a martial arts activity. It will allow me to track my hours training BJJ. The reason that is important is because I want to this to be accounted for in my fitness score.

  • I would like to be able to select which activity types are summarized in the goal and stats panels. Currently, the panels show cycling, running, and swimming.  I never run or swim so I would like to substitute two other activities for these in the goal and stats panels.  For example, I would like to replace running with walking.

  • Feature request: Provide the option to group activities by month and year much like the Training Calendar does.

What I really want is to be able to see my monthly summaries by activity type. The training log allows you to select a single activity type but only displays weekly totals. The training calendar shows yearly and monthly totals of all activities and doesn't allow you to see activities of a single type.

I have 10 years of data on Strava and I like to compare my biking progress across multiple years and same month of each year. I don't want to include all of my hiking and walking data in the totals. There's no way to do this easily without manually extracting the data into a spread sheet.

  • I would like to filter all rides over a set distance (say 100km),and look at the average speed per ride per a specific timeframe. For example average speed for all rides over 100kms in June 2020 and compare to June 2019

  • Would it be possible to display plots of total cycling distance per month for the last 12months? This will show the months I have went further or shorter etc.

  • Feature request: Custom summary statistics/visuals for activities

I want: The ability to view summary statistics (total distance, time, elevation, etc.) or visuals (e.g. line plot of rolling average for daily distance for the past four weeks) for a specific date range or activity type.

It will allow me to: Better analyze my training history and evaluate changes to my training plan.

The reason that is important is because: I want to make smart decisions regarding my training, and having access to that data more easily will speed up that process.

An example of when I need that was: when I was deciding how much to increase running volume, and I wanted to get a sense of (a) how much I've been running in the past month, and (b) how much volume variability there is in a given week of training.

  • Implement a drill down feature on the Training Calendar to be able to filter by Activity Type.  While you can use the Training Log to do this, the Log is lumped by the 52-week calendar, allocating the week end/start of a new month together, when I want to be able to see Year-over-Year stats by month (compare Nov 2019 to Nov 2020; not 10/27/19 to 11/30/19 vs. 11/1/2020 to 12/5/2020)

  • Feature request for "My Activities" page.

I'd love to see an "Advanced Options" feature added to allow some further search filtering.

    • It'd be cool to be able to filter by distance / by date (ie. so i could see how many 21.1km runs I've completed in 2020).
    • It'd also be cool to be able to add a friend or two to the criteria so I could see how far I've ran with a certain friend during a specific date range.

  • Feature Request

Add custom date range option in fitness and freshness curve

    Current situation

The fitness and freshness curve is coming with a default list of date ranges, see here:

    Concrete Feature/Improvement

Add a custom date range option in the fitness and freshness curve,
this could be either done with a classical date range selection plus
optionally via a drag selection comparable to the analyze zoom in bike activities,
    example here:

  • High Level Feature Request

A range of threshold and zone settings per sport type should be possible.

    Current Situation

    - 1 global HR Zone could get applied
    - Pace/Tempo Zones being autogenerated based on a 1Mile, 5k,10k, Half- or Marathon
    - Functional Threshold seems to be a global configuration which gets applied to all activites

    Concrete Feature Requests

Each sport type should have the option to configure zones for Heart Rate, Power or Speed/Pace.
"Default" values shall be used for any sport type that doesn't have a specific setting.

  • Yes, it´s quite a huge challenge to bring valuable content to the platform for being attractive the long run for all members.

    "Just thinking out loud!"

All common people, the normal athletes, you whom I mean, me, you and yes you, are ending in their personal dead end that normal segments are turning into a very uninteresting thing. That´s probably the answer why we got those local heros and local queens rolled out. A nice idea for all commuters and so on. Segments are just bringing focus to all common and normal ones back if the either compete against themself or analyze their efforts.

I mean, it is not like that you don´t have data from us to make more out of it, for each of us. Introduce a complete new section, let´s call them "Stats" and bring common and normal visualizations together. This could be data where we are looking at in very regular basis.

Some ideas, more is warmly welcome:

    - "Trainingsmix" to get an weekly/monthly/yearly overview of your sport types, like how many time you spent in each type of sport in a simple stacked bar chart
    - Another stacked bar char for displaying percentage spent per heart rate zone, some guys wanna see their 80:20 numbers
    - Stacked bar chart for displaying percentage spent per power zone per sport type
    - Stacked bar chart for displaying percentage spent per pace zone per sport type
    - Line charts for tracking power data for different sport types, like average 20m or 60m FTP results
    - Line charts for tracking speed data for different sport type, like 5k, 10k progressions
    - ... and so on.

Just consider this list as a open and living one.
