How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • I ask you to improve your program, make it possible to view trainings reports, with Filters so that I can choose a sport and I can see my total kilometers for the chosen sport  for a this period of time (week, month, year, all the time). I specifically bought a subscription from you in January ... but even there I could not get such reports !! Photo for example...Here is every color is another sport (bike, walking, skiing) ...

  • I really like Strava and everything is offering but I think you can improve the stats section.

I practice a lot of sports, like cross countr ski, alpine ski, hike, running, cycling, gym and others and is impossible to have a clear vision of the weekly or monthly activity I do divided per type of sport.

In the weekly bar chart I'd like to see a total including all the sports I do and the possibility to choose also sport different from running, cycling and swimming. A smart idea could be do the bar chart with different colors for different sports, like you can see in the pictures I attach (from Endomondo).

    Thanks,

    Valerio

Do you think is possible to add this feature?

  • I would love to be able to see trends in my speed and mileage over time over all (not per route or per segment, but historically). I am surprised there isn't already a simple way to plot for example my pace for each run vs date over a certain time frame. I know comparing speeds or distances over different routes\terrains is not a perfect apples to apples comparison, but I think it would still be valuable to see overall data like that, especially since you might not have enough data spanning a long period of time for the same route (in extreme example, if you move a lot and rarely run in the same locations).

  • Would like the option on activities to exclude them from power curve calculations in the case of erroneous power data.  This would also help in cases of being able to remove running activities with power data from being mixed in with cycling power curve stats, or vise versa depending on how you want your power curve data tailored.

  • Need Easier Editing of Gear

Currently users must log into strava.com to switch from their default pair of shoes to another choice. For those of us who rarely us the online portal, this is really inefficient. And because sometimes I forget to do so for a week or so, I often forget which which run I used which shoes.

This is important because many of us use the km's to help keep track of when to get a new pair. In addition, with sports injuries, sometimes physio's and doctors will ask how many km's are on your shoes to help identify issues. Because I am not an elite athlete, I don't have this down to a science.

Gear use info might also be useful for your corporate partners? Maybe?

  • Training/Analysis Graph Improvements

The web app allow switching between time and distance for the x-axis of the graphs but the Android and iOS apps do not (unless I missed this option) and instead assume distance is preferred when for most graphs time for the x-axis is more useful.  E.g.

    • Cadence/distance : I think time speed at a given cadence is much more relevant that distance covered at a given cadence.
    • HR/time : Time spent at a given HR is much more useful as distance covered at a given HR.
    • Power : Same argument as above.
    • Elevation/distance :  This is fine as it shows the gradient of the slope.  elevation/time is also useful as rate of climb/progress.
    • Speed/distance : Time and distance are both components of speed to either way the graphs are fine.

  • There are almost no running websites that ignore Stryd/watt for Garmin  runners as religiously as you guys. I think your customers have asked you to add Stryd support since 2017... why do you even bother to ask your customers for new features when this no-brainer has escaped you for 3 years? It's in the fit-File, Strava already has Watt support. Even my completely incompatible  crosstrainer shows watts on Strava, the Polar and Stryd combo works, every other website has managed to implement this within weeks/months.  I fail to see why Strava cannot.

  • High Level Feature Request

A range of threshold and zone settings per sport type should be possible.

    Current Situation

    - 1 global HR Zone could get applied
    - Pace/Tempo Zones being autogenerated based on a 1Mile, 5k,10k, Half- or Marathon
    - Functional Threshold seems to be a global configuration which gets applied to all activites

    Concrete Feature Requests

Each sport type should have the option to configure zones for Heart Rate, Power or Speed/Pace.
"Default" values shall be used for any sport type that doesn't have a specific setting.

Please could you get the phone to talk to the Apple Watch whist completing an activity . This is essential for me so that while cycling I can have an output of my HR while having a display on my bars .
At the moment it’s one or the other , . I don’t want to take my hand off to read my watch for HR and if I use the phone it does not pick up HR.
It’s very common in other apps . It’s the only think stopping me becoming premium . It was also featured in a large thread on the old forum requested by many .
    Thanks

  • Suzanne Garner:
You can use this tool to merge the activity files. You'll need to export the activities (I recommend FIT files, but the tool also support GPX and TCX files. I have used it a lot now, for both merging activities when I accidently stop and start a new activity or when I record using different tools that have different data.

Combine FIT, GPX or TCX files for Garmin or Strava. Merge Heart Rate Power and GPS (gotoes.org)

Strava has a help article about it here:

  • In support of this request to allow Garmin running power
    https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360073465892/comments/360013547192?mobile_site=true

I draw your attention to this Strava post about it.
    https://www.strava.com/clubs/231407/posts/9021054

Please allow Garmin data as you currently allow data from other watches

  • Please add another column to the "laps" view on running activities in partocular. This column should have the cumalative time at the end of that lap, eg

    lap 1 5 mins,

    lap 2 10 mins

    etc

The reason I want this is to be able to easily add my (not)Parkrun 5k time. I usually run more than 5k so I have to work out my time manually or look at Garmin connect.

Even better would be to have stats on fastest 1k, 1mile, 5k etc in a particular run!

  • Would be nice to have the heart rate analysis (ie 'time in zones') available for all sports.  Currently I only see it for cycling & running.  It does not display for nordic skiing or indoor rowing.

  • I want a martial arts activity. It will allow me to track my hours training BJJ. The reason that is important is because I want to this to be accounted for in my fitness score.

  • Feature request: Custom summary statistics/visuals for activities

I want: The ability to view summary statistics (total distance, time, elevation, etc.) or visuals (e.g. line plot of rolling average for daily distance for the past four weeks) for a specific date range or activity type.

It will allow me to: Better analyze my training history and evaluate changes to my training plan.

The reason that is important is because: I want to make smart decisions regarding my training, and having access to that data more easily will speed up that process.

An example of when I need that was: when I was deciding how much to increase running volume, and I wanted to get a sense of (a) how much I've been running in the past month, and (b) how much volume variability there is in a given week of training.

  • Feature Request

Add custom date range option in fitness and freshness curve

    Current situation

The fitness and freshness curve is coming with a default list of date ranges, see here:

    Concrete Feature/Improvement

Add a custom date range option in the fitness and freshness curve,
this could be either done with a classical date range selection plus
optionally via a drag selection comparable to the analyze zoom in bike activities,
    example here:

  • As already mentioned above, I want to be able to set custom dates for reports. Specifically, it's January 1 and I already can't really see my totals for 2020. I can't see any week I want, but monthly and yearly totals would be nice to see.

  • HORSE RIDING

Could you please add horse riding to sports? There is no option on what to choose if I do horse riding... :(. I don't want to choose "Ride" because it means a bicycle and I ride a bike too, so my statistics would be mixed.

Adding Fitness, Freshness and Form to the mobile app. I use the mobile app primarily, and rarely use a web browser.

    Thanks.

  • Orienteering is increasing popularity over world. It could be usefull to have a new type of activity called "Orienteering" when you can log your races or training. It is very similar to trail running, only two diferences: the map's track must be published with delay (12 hours for example) and the segments are not continuous only begining and end.

A desirable feature could be to upload the orienteering map and overlay the track.

  • In addition to the first post on this forum about the Training Log, it would be great if it was possible to have a filter to choose custom date periods and provide stats for distance, elevation etc by activity. For example, I am doing a walking and cycling challenge over nearly 15 months (note, not a whole month), so it would be great to just see those stats easily rather than do manual calculations. Would also be good to be able to save different searches.

  • Hi,

I normally edit my activities with some keywords that indicate location. I can search for those in My Activities which is good. I'd love to have a date (from / to) selector to narrow it down. The ability to export the data in the table to csv would be nice to have at a minimum. I know I can copy/paste to Excel but it's a lot of extra formatting and formulas (eg. to strip off "km" from the distance value). But just having simple summary of the columns would be most helpful. (I can do that in the Under Armour statistics dashboard, but can't search by keyword there.) This would let me see, for example, how many times I skied at a specific nordic center. Since most in my area are either pay to play or crowd-funded, it can help determine where to buy memberships or donate.

  • Am I the ONLY one who uses "PACE" as an indicator of performance?

In previous fitness software, I had a customizable, table list view, of ALL my runs with one column (of many) showing "PACE".

This allowed me to EASILY compare, at a glance, my performance to ALL my previous runs.

I can't find a similar "screen" on Strava.

    Is this a "weird" request????

  • App Feature Request -

I would like the ability to add/retire gear (such as running shoes) on the app as opposed to having to log into the website separately.  This would save time, and make the app more user-friendly.

    Thank you.

  • I miss having the opportunity to sort my training logs by pace or speed. Among other, I have title (which you gave my activity and I cannot use it for anything), elevation and relative effort, which also is something you invented. Why cant I see real data or at least choose my self which parameteres I want to have displayed ?? average heart rate, max heart rate etc is much more relevant thant your relative effort to me. I used to use endomondo and really miss many of their functionalites to get an overview of my progression.

  • Please add filtering and totals to My Activities. We should be able to see a specific date range and get totals for number of activities, duration, distance and elevation. This should be a pretty easy update and would help everyone. Most apps that provide tabular data have this built in and it is expected. We should not have to do a data dump and import to Excel just to figure out how far we have hiked this year for example.

  • Surprising to me that there is no "Trail Run" activity choice. Hike and Run independently do not apply to this kind of effort... what do other people choose? I assume Run since that is most of the effort. Please Strava add this option.

  • I would like to see more 'comparison' options for activities - such as the Power Curve / Power Zones & 25w Distributions / Heart Rate Zones.
It will allow me to better assess my performance by comparing 'repeat' or 'similar' activities I have done in the past (ie. from my Training Log).
The reason that is important is because it allows me better visibility of my fitness and strength gains / losses over time.
An example of when I needed that was yesterday, when I did a Virtual Spin Class (No.62) and felt really flat, being able to compare with the previous(3) efforts on this activity would give me further insight.
Below is a picture(s) illustrating where the extra functionality could be added, on the Power Curve Graph for starters.
This is important to me because Strava is my 'Go-To' for recording and tracking my activities / fitness and informing my training regime.
Strava has access to all the information req'd and already utilises the basic functionality (eg. over-plotting a 'Custom Date Range' - which at a minimum is a 1 week period) to provide the enhancement.
Downloading the raw data and re-graphing (eg. with Excel) is time consuming and inefficient.

  • ^ If you want to see the distance ran, then why not just record it as running ? (and remember that football means different things around the world...soccer -11 or 5 a side, rugby, Aussie rules, American Football...impossible to compare them against each other). The list of sports is already getting unwieldy, if Strava added football, horse riding, pilates, orienteering and every other "sport' that people have been requesting it would take forever to scroll through the list on your phone ! people should remember that there is a limit of what Strava can realistically include, especially as many people are getting it for free.

  • For the cycling heat-maps please allow e-bikes to be included, have switched to an e-bike and now my rides logged via a WAHOO Roam no longer appear on my heat-map, means the feature is now totally useless to me.
