  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • Can you add support/data display for Cycling power pedals for the Favero Assioma uno and duo?

  • I would like to be able to customize the "Type of Run".  Currently, we have a very limited number of choices: <default>, Race, Long Run, and Workout.  My training team uses "Quality" and "Medium Long Run" designations in our training plans, and I would love to be able to designate my runs in Strava with those labels.  Can we please have a feature to add new labels to this field?

  • Please add "Nordic Knitting" and "Speed Scrolling" and "Power TV-watching". This is a must for a modern athlete!

Actually I see a never ending stream of Add New Sport type of requests. I think the only way for Strava to stop it is to add a "User Defined Sport". Then any user could add whatever he/she wants.

  • Ditto to Dovydas S. above .....some people should stop and think about the practicalities of some requests. If the phone app was to have all the things people ask for it would take ages to scroll through the list !

  • I agree with Dovydas and Mike- in fact, I’m not even happy with the distinction between biking and e-biking because it means the distances and times aren’t computed together. I know some people may want to consider the time spent on analog bikes separately from time on electric, but my goal for distance this year is irrespective of which bike I’m on. I’m so tired of waiting for them to give me the features I’m asking for, I decided to write my own.

  • Training log only for trainer
I would like to share my training log with my trainer only. Is it possible to make a special friend/connection that has special viewing rights kn my account?

I think this really opens up a new area of possibilities for Strava to become more helpful for people who train very seriously but are not prof athletes.

    Thanks

  • Hi Wouter V I think you'll find most people in this category use Training Peaks. Usually it's best to sync to TP from the source (e.g. Garmin / Wahoo / etc), but Apple integration is a bit miss and miss and hit. I've found the in practice it seems to go Apple Watch --> Strava mobile --> TP mobile --> TP main site. If you have a coach, then usually they will invite you to connect to their account, which in turn gives you more features etc. Otherwise you can just use the free tier or obviously decide to pay for it too.

  • Please can we crop non-GPS activities?  I just forgot to stop my weight training activity which had some good heart-rate statistics, but don't want to give myself "credit" for 35 minutes sitting at my desk afterwards; that all counts towards my weekly goal of minutes in the gym.  It'd be so easy to just allow us to edit the time, and then crop off the end of the workout, similar to how we can crop runs and bike rides when we forget to stop the activity at the end.

  • Hello, it would be nice if we could zoom in on the fitness & freshness curves. I currently have almost 10 years of recordings (1984 rides) and it is very difficult to compare an earlier period to the current one. But it is the main interest of this curve to compare your current state of fitness to a past state of fitness where you knew you were in a good shape. As the points of the rides are very close to each other it is almost impossible with the mouse to select a precise date, maybe using the keyboard keys to move  from point to point could be a useful solution.

  • *Fitness and Freshness*

Hi, I've been using Strava for almost 5 years now, and really enjoyed being able to compare relative effort between months/years..  roughly 4 months ago the algorithm was adjusted and subsequent efforts have been significantly lower.  The problem is historical activities have not been adjusted accordingly.  So there is no way to compare past efforts prior to the algorithm change.  Will there be a solution to this?

  • I would like to count my skiing activities for my winter season.  Achieving 100 plus ski days is a big deal in the ski world and an accomplishment people strive for.  Skiing activities for me are alpine skiing, snowboarding, back country skiing, Nordic skiing… all different activity types. As a workaround each year now I download the archive of my whole account at 1GB just so I can get an excel file of all my activities and do a pivot table to count up my total ski activities for the ski season which runs October through May, so I have to do some manipulations to create a ski season time period instead of calendar year.

More generally just better analytics on all my activity log / training log.

  • Yesterday I did my first run with Strava and ended up with 3 activities for the same run.  SInce each activity came from a different connected device and has different information I would like to keep all 3, but the problem is that Strava added up the 3 times and distances.  If the activity is during the same timeframe as adjacent activities, the highest time and distance of the set should be used instead of the sum of the 3.

  • Suzanne Garner:
I understand and agree, it was merely meant as a temporary solution until they hopeful sort it out within Strava.

  • Hi

Think your heart wheel is a bit poor. Please replace by a better graph where zones are separated by different colors over the distance or timeline. Also Let's have at least two zone setups. One for running and one for riding and with manual entries for the zones, max minus rest setup and standard default. As it is now zone setup in Strava override setup in Garmin which has 3 options for zone setups

    Thanks

  •  Any way to add VAM and GAP to hiking? Hikers do ascend rated climbs and VAM and GAP would allow hikers, climbers (mountaineers) to evaluate if they are getting stronger on the verticals where it counts or just walking faster on the flats and downhills. Obviously they have speed sections on the map, but that doesn't give you are legitimate idea of what your actual improvements are for vertical ascent.

Yes, I know, just put all your hikes as runs...except I only run sprints, and I don't want Strava c0-mingling my runs and hikes. If strava would just accept that it started out as a cycling or running or whatever platfoorm but it's time to toss in the towel and expand features to  hikers ,climbers and other mountain athletes (and all sorts of other non triathlon sports) it could grow it's base a lot more. This stubborn idea that we are a running plattform is holding Strava back. I'm currently looking at Sport Tracks for better data management/analysis

  • I would like to filter all rides over a set distance (say 100km),and look at the average speed per ride per a specific timeframe. For example average speed for all rides over 100kms in June 2020 and compare to June 2019

  • Would it be possible to display plots of total cycling distance per month for the last 12months? This will show the months I have went further or shorter etc.

  • Implement a drill down feature on the Training Calendar to be able to filter by Activity Type.  While you can use the Training Log to do this, the Log is lumped by the 52-week calendar, allocating the week end/start of a new month together, when I want to be able to see Year-over-Year stats by month (compare Nov 2019 to Nov 2020; not 10/27/19 to 11/30/19 vs. 11/1/2020 to 12/5/2020)

  • Feature request for "My Activities" page.

I'd love to see an "Advanced Options" feature added to allow some further search filtering.

    • It'd be cool to be able to filter by distance / by date (ie. so i could see how many 21.1km runs I've completed in 2020).
    • It'd also be cool to be able to add a friend or two to the criteria so I could see how far I've ran with a certain friend during a specific date range.

  • Please provide ability to link activities in paid accounts

Currently, I need to download, HRM data from the Apple Watch, and download Power data from iPhone activity, use a second tool to combine the activity, upload it to Strava, delete the previous activity. All to be able to see power and HRM data in the same activity.

I propose the concatentation of the data, via a "link these activities" button
    Or
Allow the IOS phone app to access the applewatch HRM

I understand there's probably some Apple privacy hoops to jump through here, but I'm hopeful they're do-able within my AppleID sphere

If this could be done live, so it appears on the handlebar, instead of the watch for HRM and the bars for PWR, then I could die a happy man

    Cheers AP

  • Please can we have pilates as an activity - it's not the same as a workout nor is it yoga. It isn't an unusual activity these days.

  • It would be nice to be able to tie ride type and bike together. I have several different bikes. I use one all the time on my trainer for indoor rides. It never leaves the trainer. I have a mountain bike and several road bikes. If I tag a ride as a mountain bike ride it would be cool if my mountain bike was automatically added as the bike I rode.

  • FEATURE REQUEST - add & remove kit to Touring Bike configurations

We ride long tours and our bikes are in various configurations from 20kg to 60kg.  Same bikes but different loadings.  It would be good to be able to add and remove open format gear, maybe just a gear option called "Other" and then it would only be recorded for the rides where we have added it so the power would be properly calculated.

  • Fitness.

I understand that the fitness graphs are built on a recognised model, however I have been concerned for a while that they do not accommodate rest days or 'easy' activities as part of building or maintaining fitness. Could a delay be built in to the fitness algorithm such that fitness only goes down after a period of say 3 days of low relative effort? I am worried that people keen to build fitness will be encouraged to over-train and not rest enough, in order to keep the graph level, or heading upwards.

TSS alongside relative effort may help also. If I put in a big day of say 250+, a week later I might still be recovering but a similar effort would only score ~200, despite not having gained much fitness. This suggests that the fitness model in general is too responsive and could be dangerous if people use it as a guide - which they will, because it exists.

  • Here's one more vote for adding "Orienteering" - it's really popular in Finland as well, and marking those activities only as "Running" is really silly.

  • What: Manually adding / editing the TRAINING LOAD of a RIDE:

Why: Occasionally I may use a bike without powermeter or for some reason (battery, S/W crash) etc. measured power data may be lost or incomplete.

Improvement: Positive impact on power management chart (fitness, freshness etc.) as a zero for one training session effects all power training data.
