How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • Pilates as an activity

Given that the last reference for Pilates was Sept 2020 as part of the training log contribution, I would like to suggest it has equal status to Yoga.

I now have a growing dislike towards Yoga, given that any of my Pilates activity need to recorded as either Yoga or 'Other'.

There is also the suggestion that a Pilates activity option, could increase the popularity as well as finding clubs?

  • Feature Request

When importing runs from Apple Health (e.g. Apple Watch) as described at https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216917527-Health-App-and-Strava, please also import the cadence (SPM). The data is there, but the Strava app does not import it. When syncing runs with the app RunGap, the cadence is included. So there should be no excuse to leave it out ;-).

  • Whats the point, they won't even add simple filtering to the My Activities page, so we could do date ranges etc.

  • The most valuable weekly metric for me to see in the Training Log section is weekly hours. How many hours did I ride each week over the last four weeks?  I need to be able to see the trend as expressed in hours per week. Look at any training plan or hear the pros talk. They all talk about how many hours they will ride each week during a season. HEre's an example in a video by former World Tour Pro Phil Gaimon https://youtu.be/oVMBFw-kLzg?t=185 starting at 3min mark of video. Other weekly metrics (ATL, CTL, TSS) would be nice, but the most important element for me is time, even more than distance.

  • Feature request: I'd really like to see unicycling (human-powered, not electric) added as an activity. I realize unicyclists are a minority, but there is a growing number of us. The social/competition aspect of the app is totally skewed when our times on a direct-drive single wheel are compared to bicycles, with all their gears, downhill coasting, and aerodynamic advantages. It's at LEAST as big a difference as regular bikes being compared to E-bikes. I put in over a thousand miles a year on my uni, and the app is great for tracking my distances; but I'm certainly not going to pay for a subscription when the app discriminates against my sport.

  • Add "backcountry snowboarding" or "splitboarding" as an activity type.  Yes, it's similar to Backcountry Skiing, but no, it's not the same.

  • Would be nice to be able to see a summary of how much time spent in different heart rate and power zones for a specific period of time. ex. a year. All data is available in the log so it should be possible and would be a good tool for evaluating your training.

  • I’d like to be able to set my default bike will be for new rides. I mostly ride my single speed through the week but my road bike is first in the list. Every time I ride I have to go in and edit my bike which is a first-world problem, I know, but it’d be cool if this feature was possible. I’m sure there is specific kit runners and swimmers would like to change as a default, too.

  • Hello,

Would it be possible to add a feature on the Apple Watch, which would allow to launch "laps" as it is the case on watches like Garmin or Polar?
This would allow a better analysis of split training.

    Best regards,
    Maxime

  • Climbed meters for custom workout on slope % basis.

Strava should take into account the climbing profile generated during customized workout, in order to take into account in the stats, thiese climbed meters too, and not only the ones coming from gps files.

Furthermore i saw that Garmin Connect, where the custom workout is synchronized first, takes into account the total climbed meters (without drawing the profile in the graphs. Then this activity is synchronized to Strava, but, because is automatically categorized as Virtual, these meters don't count.

It would be much better to have a full synchronization without loosing data, and also much less frustrating.

  • When could tennis be incorporated as a new sport within Strava? On my iWatch I capture a tennis match correctly, but on Strava it is only imported as "Workout"

  • I would like to be able to select the activities that I can see on my apple watch.  There are some I will never use and I would be happier with a shorter list to choose from!

  • As an addition to John Pescatore's request dating oct 7th 2020; 11:15 I'd like to comment that with the strava app you can define more bikes, and the app totals the number of miles/kms per bike.

An exportable date/odometer table would be handy.

I would be happy to see a reminder function telling me it's been 12months since I had my fork and frame damper sealings checked/changed, or a reminder function telling me my chain is approaching 1,000 miles and depending on wear (mud vs dry) might be changed.

The app could propose a default value, which the user could adapt depending on the weather conditions in the corresponding timerframe

  • I would like to suggest an improvement if possible.

Namely when I scrolled down to 1 workout from 2017, then selected it to check something out, then pressed the left arrow in the browser aiming to return where I was when selected that workout, Strava took me back all the way to the most recent workout from March 2022.

I propose that you amend it in a way that it takes me back to where I was when selecting that workout and not taking me back to the very beginning of my scrolling down process.

  • Jan Mantau Nothing prevents me to do so but why should I think about it when the sole purpose of "back arrow" should be to get me back where I was most recently. This is, at least, how I see it. Thx for your comment.

  • Proposal: I feel that hiking shall be given more attention in Strava. It's not o.k. to have running, cycling and swimming only for comparison purposes.

  • Feature request: Add elevation gain in Progress summary for running activities (mobile app)

I would like to see at a glance the evolution of elevation gain for my running activites. A week with a lot of climbing is exhausting. For trail running activities, it is very important to identify which week has a high value of elevation and which week has not. It will help to plan training, especially rest period, and to highlight intense period of training.

You can find below some suggestion:

  • It would be great when using a Strava training plan that the app could track this. For example if doing a fartlek run you can set the intervals in seconds/minutes or even metres and then when out with your phone or watch it would actually track based on this and call out cues so you know when to increase your speed or slow down.

It would be much easier then having to check your phone/watch every minute or two and seeing if you’re close to the time to change your running pace.

  • Would it be hard to add a "Download CSV" button next to the big "My Activities" table (https://www.strava.com/athlete/training)?  It would let us load our stats into our favourite spreadsheet and do whatever kind of analysis of the data that we feel interested in.

  • Hi @Thomas G. I've gone ahead and created a support ticket for you, there's no algorithm associated with the Fitness & Freshness feature and it sounds like you may have something else going on (perhaps custom heart rate zones?). We're happy to investigate and sort this out for you.
