How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

  • For mountain biking it would be great to get a break down of time spent riding on a bike on the road, on fire trails and on single track. This would be very useful as fork and rear shock service intervals are done on hours of use (on single track) and it gets hard to estimate this when decent chunks of time are spent riding on fire roads (usually fairly smooth and ridden with suspension locked out, particularly on ascents) or on the road. I can't think of any easy way of doing this myself and software connected with a map like Strava could do this quite easily. 

    Maybe Fox or SRAM would get on board to help get this developed?

    Also, just getting hours ridden instead of km for each bike would be of use as a starting point.

  • Simple feature request:

    Add "special event" or something similar as activity type to the menu. It is currently impossible to properly categorize non-competitive events -- like brevets -- because they are not a race.

  • I found the swim.com app by far the most reliable way of recording lap swims on the watch, it was way better than apple or strava. It can't do open water however.

  • It would be great to be able to change your default activity to any of the types available when editing - would save having to edit every upload. I no longer run or ride, but would love to make my (almost) daily activity upload to a specific type (crossfit or workout)

  • It would be very helpful to allow bulk modifications to be made to activities.  For example, Strava now has a "Mountain Bike" activity - bulk edit would allow users to select and update past activiites to better reflect what they are (and would help Strava as you are now trying to suggest mountain bike routing).  This would also be helpful to correct forgotten modifications on equipment type, commute tagging, virtual rides on trainers, etc.  It's tedious to make these changes ride-by-ride for many activities.

  • I really like the suggestion by Marius Flugsrud , above (Other activity and Activity tagging). For example you don't have a facility to track fencing, let alone its subtypes (sabre / foil / epee). There's been tickets kicking around for years about adding this activity type (your competitors have it...) - but it's clearly not going to happen if it hasn't happened by now. An "Other" category, with the ability to tag would address this pretty elegantly, and also address a bunch of other needs. For example you could use it to tag a workout as "social" "HIIT" "VO2" "My regular crazy workout" "Recovery" etc.

  • It would be good to have Pilates as an option in exercises -- I practice both yoga and pilates, and they are very definitely not the same.

  • I totally agree with orienteering, especially as it's quite popular in Nordics etc. This would be of great help to athletes (as myself) involved in the sport, as it would make it possible to measure orienteering kilometres and training hours separately from other sports. It is important to measure this because, in addition to running, this activity develops technical skills in the sport.

  • I both ride to commute and to train/have fun. A big difference is that when I commute I bring a pretty heavy pannier.
    Would be great to adjust my bike weight when commuting to properly calculate power, calories, effort, etc. This could even be implemented when adding the commute tag after a ride.

  • A normal walk is currently available, nordic skiing is also available, but not nordic walking, Why not??!! ...which is somewhat differen?!?! Why isn't this available? Why is STRAVA silent on this topic?! We need this!! I want to map the right activity. I pay you for that and I don't get something that simple! Otherwise the app would be so perfect but without this activity I will have to leave Strava. *shakes head

  • Please add Physical Therapy and/or Stretching to the list of activities.  Also please consider providing customized activity sorting in the app, to put those activities most used (say over the past 6 months) at the top of the list.

    These changes would make it easier to use Strava as the only activity tracking app, and the only source for Apple Health data.

  • Please add Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as an activity type. It doesn't even have to be that specific; "MMA" would do. I argue that BJJ/MMA is more popular than "kitesurf session" yet the latter has its own activity type to log. I've used Strava for years to log mountain biking & snowboarding activities, and I wish I didn't have to use a separate app to log BJJ. Thanks.

  • Hi,

    I would love to keep track of my paragliding flights with strava! Please add Paraglide/Paramotor activities you will have a lot of new users!

    Paragliding activities should log gps coordinates with barometric and gps altitude plus some other statistics like sink and average lift variometer values, you can get some ideas if have a look at xctrack and the online logbook xcontest to have an idea of the data to record and display on activities.

  • I would suggest adding a new sport - nordic walking - to the list of activities that may be selected to customize the given exercise. A normal walk is currently available, nordic skiing is also available, but not nordic walking, which is somewhat different to the normal walk (it requires poles), is more energetic and involves whole body motion rather than just legs.

    Looking forward to seeing nordic walking in Strava!

  • I like the new "Correct distance" feature, altough it's not quite what I need. I will explain using my recent example:

    - My last Ride had real 206 km (measured on wheel device).

    - My GPS device recorded only 201,1 km. It's because it looses about 1 km of the ride per 50 km total. It's just how the device is measuring the distance, and I cannot change that with any settings.

    - Then I used the "Correct distance" feature, but it calculated only 201,9 km, so still I lack 4 km.

     

    Can you add the option to correct the distance manually? It would save my rided distance loses. I could just manually set the same distance as in the other more precise device by myself. I was informed that Garmin site has such feature for a long time. Why Strava don't?

  • Hello STRAVA! I assume you read the comments here? We need "Nordic Walking" as an activity!! When will this be available?!? I hope adding a new activity isn't a big problem for you. I finally want to map the right activity and share it with the community. Nordic walking is so popular! Please do something...

  • Is there a possibility to add GOLF as a sport?

    When I play it, I use my GARMIN Forerrunner 935 to record the activity and transfer it STRAVA. If you edit the activity, you won´t see GOLF as an activity.

    I´m sure there are several STRAVA users looking forward to this feature.

  • Feature Request: Add HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING to the exercise list (Similar to what's done in F45).  More to life than just running and cycling and crossfit isn't what we want either.
