How to format your new idea and/or feedback:

Feedback that is actionable and constructive is most effective. When sharing, please consider the following when framing your thoughts:

  • If you have a new idea, it's helpful for us to understand why that feature is important for you and the value it will bring. For example: I want __. It will allow me to do ___. The reason that is important is because of ___. An example of when I needed that was ___.
  • Specific examples and details that illustrate the problem/confusion you are experiencing. For example: When I do ___, then ___ happens and that is not ok because ___.
  • Screenshots that help visually illustrate the problem. For example: Here is a picture illustrating my point ___ from above. See how ___ is doing ___?
  • An explanation of why this is important. For example: This is important to me because ___.
  • If you propose a solution, an explanation of how that solution would help you and why that is important. For example: I think a ___ would be great because then I could see ___. This is important to me because I have to ___.

If someone has already suggested the same idea as you, you can help us quantify the demand for the feature or improvement by upvoting the original comment. To upvote, click the up arrow on the right-hand side of the comment.

  • Please make Ride Titles and Ride Descriptions searchable, if the member allows it (i.e. a Privacy option like Flybys). Being able to search titles and descriptions would make it easy to find previous rides (e.g. find a ride by keyword), find other members who prefer similar rides/segments (e.g. riders who like climbing), and also search for ride tips, for example "at the end of this ride you can lock your bike and hike an additional 1 mile to the edge of Snoqualmie Falls".

Many members make detailed notes in their descriptions, much like a diary. Currently there is no way to take advantage of this except for tedious, time-consuming scrolling.

  • PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE allow average speed to be displayed during an activity!  It used to be displayed until I PAID for Strava and for some reason the pay version will not allow average speed to be displayed.  I don't need to know my current speed, average speed is much more useful.  Ideally there would be a way to have both, like most simple $20 speedometers!

  • The recording screen heatmap used to be red, but for an unknown reason, Strava changed it to blue, which is much worse, difficult to differentiate routes colors. Please, get recording screen heatmap back to red!!!

  • Regarding the calendar (https://www.strava.com/athlete/calendar)

It would be nice to select a specific sport for an easy overview. For example I would like to know how many km I have for running in February. Yes I can calculate by myself in the training log. But I don't know why this values are generally not easily visible. For example in Garmin connect I can select a sport and see for each month the total value. For me it would be a great improvement to see my monthly results.

  • Hello,

it would be great if I can compare 2 activities.

    Example:

    2 bicycle drives.
    10.05 with 1:44h
    09.05 with 1.45h

I know that I driver on 10.05 at last very slowly ... but in total I have a better time ... so I must drive at the beginning much faster as on 09.05 ... but not able to compare this 2 drives.

Great would be a side by side with interval of 1km:

Then I could see, on which part of my ride I drive how fast.

    Thank you!

  • Hello. Please enhance Strava to support dirtbike (Moto) riders. Today we Moto riders must chose "E-Bike Ride" and then we have mixed results between mountain bike and moto riders. Also, let's say I want to train and work hard to improve past a certain rider that does both Moto and E-Mountain bike. When I go to his profile it is nearly impossible to find segments that I'm confident are Moto instead of E-Mountain bike. You have so many sport types (even Ice Skate and Inline Skate and Handcycle) there is a very large group of us that want to stick with Strava and have it support both Moto and E-MTB. Will you please please please fix this? In addition, when you record (or start) Strava from the Apple Watch you can't select E-Bike only "Outdoor Ride" which is basic bicycle. I am a full member (paying subscriber) and would pay DOUBLE if you would support Moto.

  • I wish Strava allowed us to record the location where we had flats on their database. It would identify flat prone sections of road and it could be used to notify municipal officials of sections of road needing cleaning or other attention.

  • In order to track overall fitness I would like to set time based goals across a subset of activities. For example I have a goal of getting 4.5 hours of cardio in a week over the whole year, but in the summer it is mostly on the bike with some hockey and in the winter it is more on the elliptical, fat biking and hockey.

I would want to exclude the stretching, weight lifting and skiing activities as those aren't really related to cardio goals.

That said an overall activity goal in hours would be nice as well.

  • I would like to suggest a new Strava feature which is quite simple to implement I think it would be very attractive to track the wear/usage of your bike gear.
I know Strava has the option to track how many kms your bike has travelled, I think that feature could be revamped to allow more fine grain, what I mean is I want to track how many kms the tyres of that bike has or how many kms the chain of that bike has, etc

That way I can tell if my tires travelled enough kms before replacing, same for the chain or the brake pads.
What I was thinking is like a tree view of the bike with its components in each tree branch/leave.

That’s all, a simple feature but great for those who like to maintain their bikes and its components.

  • Manage equipment (shoes/bikes/etc) on the mobile app

It would be really nice to not have to use the desktop app to add gear to your profile. That one missing feature is the only reason I go on Strava on my desktop computer at this point vs on the mobile app.

  • Wear OS app. This really needs updating to a better standard. This version hasn't been updates since 2017 and needs bringing more in line with, dare I say it, the Tizen version!

It has much more workout types than the Wear OS version (cycling or running).

The app also needs to be referred to by its new name too. You still call it Android Wear!

  • Multiple heartrate zones for different sports.

Be able to have multiple heartrate zones for different sports.

Heartrate zones per person are different for cycling, for running and other sports. To have proper analysis it would be necessary to have separate heartrate zones for cycling and running (and maybe more sports) in your profile.

  • I am an avid diver and dive with a SUUNTO dive computer with bluetooth capabilities.  I would love to have it sync with my Strava account so I can log all my dives as well as let friends and family see my dives.  It would be great if I could post my dive pictures so all can see.  I would like to have data such as dive time, depth, temp, dive number, bottom time, surface interval etc.  Would be great if I could add another hobby to log via Strava.  Thanks for the help!

  • I would like a way to customize which parameters show up in "My Activities" on the web. Average speed would be more useful to me than, say, relative effort, but I can't find a way to show that in the list.

  • MTB and chairlift/vehicle uplifts! Come on Strava, sorting out how to record/interpret imported data for this so that the obvious portions made in a vehicle should be possible by now. Even only having a 'Ride' option that could be a road or mountain bike is quite frankly pathetic in this day and age.

  • It's quite often of interest with a map to estimate how far it is from one feature to another, e.g. from your current track to a nearby trail or road. A scale bar on the maps inside the app would make this possible. Similarly, when reviewing an activity later on the web, it can be nice to get a sense of scale and better understand how long different segments of the journey were and how closely other features were approached. So it would be nice to have a scale bar on the maps on the web site as well. Thank you.

  • I am a Apple Watch and iPhone user. I have used Strava on my Apple Watch (series 3) for every ride and run to take advantage of the heart rate monitor.

However, I recently purchased the Quad Lock to mount my phone on my bike to see all the information and record my bike rides on my phone. I was disappointed when I wasn’t able to get heart rate information or recording when I used my phone to record a work out. I previously used other apps, like Nike Run Club, that synced up the Apple Watch and iPhone together to track heart rate information on the watch while recording a workout on the phone. Peloton does this well as well.

If you could program a way for the Apple Watch to track heart rate data while recording a ride on Strava on my iPhone that would be very much appreciated!

  • Idea for saving work of Strava Support team when dealing with countless flags of activities. Some of these flags are only based on envy and hate from the people who flag, therefore it should be more difficult for them to create flags in the first place. For instance, allow only Premium accounts to flag and do not flag anonymously, show the flagger's account to the person whose activity has been flagged. Also, have some way of verification of accounts, there are so many fake accounts, 1 person can easily create dozens of fake accounts with different email addresses. Verify account at time of creation. In addition, fake/unreasonable flags can be avoided in the future by implementing an algorithm which detects an activity as "cheating" or "non-cheating". Such an activity which is detected as "cheating", meaning either GPS or wattage data was manually modified can be easily classified as such. Also, there are a few criteria which always speak for legitimate, non-cheating activities:

    1. Riders with many year kilometers OUTSIDE, not on the home trainer.

    2. Riders who participate in competitions.

    3. Riders who often train with other professional cyclists.

    4. Riders who always upload their activities with Wattage so that the algorithm can calculate a W/kg for specific time on particular segments.

  • I just realized that in more than 100 manual entries that I added, the distance is wrong and needs to be corrected. With a wrong distance, all my calculation is wrong, especially average pace.

In each activity I made some comments, gave the run a different title, put the right time and day. I can't just delete them 1 by 1 and have to do 100 manual entries all over again, when all I want to do is to adjust the distance. It is a shame that Strava won't let us just edit the distance of a manual entry.

  • Apple watch activity questions: 1) Is there a way to track rock climbing elevation gain on the apple watch? 2) Is there a way to change which activities you can select on your apple watch? I don't do most of the activities listed. I'd like to be able to select rock climb on my apple watch to get an idea of my total elevation gain. Currently I select 'workout' and then change the activity type to "rock climb" later but there is no elevation associated with workout activities.

  • It would be wonderful if you could enter a lap pool swim in yards or meters vs miles or meters
After all a pool is in yards or meters right?
Example : work out is 500 yds swim 500 yrds kick ( garmins don't measure kicking) and 500 swim
Total 1500 yds. Hmm is that .9 miles?
    Really should add those options.

  • Strava needs to start removing meaningless activities to another tab.  Like walking a dog, walking to the park, etc...   maybe start consolidating identical activities into one group?  It is too much and the ones we want to see, like someone running 100 miles is buried by someone with 20 activities of walking .05 mile or other things.  biceps, triceps.....  they need to consolidate.  maybe running, swimming, & cycling should be the main group.  And other things....  just a suggestion to make Strava meaningful.  Thanks and stay safe

  • Hello. Since the default privacy options has changed (private is now the default), seeing each other as part of a group is not the standerd way. If you want to see your fellow members in a private group you are allowed to see their activities in the activities of the groups when the have choosen to ALLOW EVERYONE to see their activities. Since privacy is hot, most people choose the second option: ONLY FOLLOWERS.

I'm a member of a private group and I do not like to follow all my fellow members. Why?

Because on the default dashboard page I can see all the people I do like to follow, like my best friends, my children and my other relatives. So what we need is a fourth option in the privacy settings for Groups:

    ALLOW FOLLOWERS AND GROUPMEMBERS

If this can be done, the home page dashboard contains the activities of the people I like to follow and once I'm interested in my groups I can see the compleet group, jus be clicking the right one and choose activties.

Thank you for your great website.

  • At the moment the 'Biggest Climb' stat on the my profile page is being calculated when cycling a non e-bike only.

The 'Longest Ride' stat does include both normal bikes and e-bikes...

This is confusing one stat includes both types of cycling the other doesn’t.

The my profile page should either include both types in the calculation so that it's consistent.

Or separate out e-bikes and show those in a separate tab how you can toggle between cycling/running so perhaps calculate statistics per type of category?

  • The GPS feature on my Galaxy 2 watch with Strava is nearly useless, which makes Strava nearly useless. Usually the Stava app times out before a GPS signal is locked in, even if I'm outside. Somtimes, after several miles of my run the app suddenly springs to life, but more often I'll finish my run with no miles recorded and when I try to save it, the app says I didn't go anywhere, so forget it. I'm very frustrated. Also, I live in a cold climate so hanging around outside in winter in my shorts and t-shirt to wait for the signal is enough to keep me from running. Help!

  • II would like to be able to post short videos (10 seconds). It is especially interesting in mountain biking since we could publish jumps, difficult passages, show better than on photos the interest of the region etc ... I have a lot of acquaintances who download my outings in order to redo them , but they don't know the difficulty level. 10 second videos might show the difficulty level better. I think that could upset Strava again.

  • Custom Badges for Group Challenges

Now when there is a way to create "personal" group challenges, it would be great to have an option to set up custom badges for winners and/or participants in those.

It could be done so that you could set up challenges with or without the badges. Having challenges with badges could motivate some to be more active when competing.

  • Suggestion.
I have created more than 200 routes.
I don´t find any tool to find a specific route.
Could be possible to have the option to find a route as we have to find any activity?

  • I would like to distinguish training 'seasons' and then be able to record an SB (Season's Best).  This would be particularly useful if you are returning to the sport after a prolonged break (forced by injury or the season).  It would also provide motivation to challenge yourself to beat previous PBs.
