Hi Fede - it sounds like your GPS lost the signal, which unfortunately is very hard for the Strava app to prevent. The Strava app simply receives the GPS signal from your phone if it is available.
Please see step #4 that I outlined above. Please confirm that you still experience these issues after:
1. Turning the phone completely off then on again.
2. Proceeding through the GP...

For folks with issues on Android 6.0: Please check that battery saving settings are disabled, or turned off. We find this interrupts GPS recording when the screen sleeps.
