Set Goals based on Elevation gained

I'd love to be able to set a weekly elevation goal. Possible?

Keep up the great work,

Andrew

  • Just another voice here supporting the need for elevation based goals. Strava?

  • Strava? Elevation weekly and annual goals? Seems like this is just a little bit of cost to implement. Elevation is already being tallied...

  • Annual goals only available to premium members (http://blog.strava.com/set-an-annual-goal-11291/?utm_source=strava-desktop&utm_medium=dorado&utm_campaign=annual-goals-dorado&utm_content=z11) for something that should have taken 20 minutes (not over a year to implement). The only reason I'm a premium member is to get 2 months of free Zwift. Low class move by Strava considering there are so many better apps and websites out there.

  • Weekly and annual goals are great - Elevation gained or climbing, is still not an option however! I want to set two simple goals: 2000 miles and 150,000 ft of climbing - get your act together Strava!

  • Another vote for this, would really be useful.

  • I don't understand why in strava it is so restrict in distance goal only. The posibility of combing several aspects as elevation, time, average pace. Average cadence is feasible and would be much more useful. Then I would think about becoming a premium user!

  • Came here to submit this exact request and was disappointed to find that it was created over two years ago and still hasn't been implemented.

Seems like a fairly easy, straightforward thing, as there are Challenges already capable of tracking your elevation gain. Would love to be able to set a weekly elevation goal.

One more +1 on the pile.

  • It's obvious of no use whatsoever to come with good ideas here....
Maybe we should explain "the power that be" how to access this forum.

I'm a convinced StraveSlave, but there is still a lot of ways to improve this excellent product.

  • Hey @Elle Anderson - your last post (5 months ago) said you guys were discussing this.  Any update?  I've climbed over 100,000 feet in those 5 months...but might have done more with a weekly goal.

  • An update on this would be most welcome, distance goal is a great feature but climbing would add another weekly/annual goal for people to strive for.

  • Absolutely need elevation goals.  Why doesn't my elevation cumulate...instead it subtracts the downhill from the uphill and makes it look like I was running flat. So stupid.

  • Don't waist your time and money on strava. They don't reply and don't listen to customers. Just find a new app.....

  • Add me to the list.  Lots of great ideas here, annualized, suffer score for elevation etc.  Climbing is a critical metric to track.

  • Yes please. My training is elevation oriented, please add goal based on elevation rather than time/distance.

  • I am trying to do 1,000,000 by the end of 2016. I tried to go to goals but a power segment would only come up. Is there a way to make the elevation a goal yet?

  • Another yes please to elevation goals.  I am happy to pay for Strava, this feature would make me even more so.

  • Another  vote for elevation goals... I know I'll be canceling my premium membership after this trial month, very disappointed with the lack of features for premium.

Not to mention that there is not a single comment from Strava on this thread.

  • Goal setting for premium users is weak.  Realistically you should be able to set goals on any attributes and get feedback via email / text / whatever user prefers.  This would get me to to site / App more frequently.

Average per / (week-month- and final year)  (ride time, miles & altitude)

  • Wow...it's been over 3 years since this was first requested... and a year since it was "discussed"... must be a really difficult thing to add.

  • @Lewis Woodward, Strava has indeed commented, back in 2016 (January 28th).  Elle Anderson let us know that Strava do indeed hear us, and will discuss our feedback to see what they can do to provide the feature as part of Goal setting.

Seems like an unfortunately long discussion….

  • @Elle Anderson , has there been any progress in this feature request?

I have had a little deliberation, and I still think it would be a great feature.

    Thanks.

  • We've been holding our collective breaths for 3 years, 7 months, 9 days, may we please have another update or just a flat out "Go Eat Sand."

  • Come on Strava, how can this be difficult to implement? You already have a goals based system for distance and time, and you already track elevation.

This feature alone is the difference between me not paying for premium. Add this, and you can have my money.
