Export Segment GPX

I see you can export a previous activity to a GPX file.  There is a GPX button inside the map that I press.  However I want to create a GPX file just of a single segment.  I do not see that same option on the segments page as exists on the activities page.  For example, go to http://www.strava.com/segments/5447153.  I would like to see a GPX button here as well.

  • @ Ely W.   Are you looking for a feature which will take an existing route of any size, and then you can crop the route just to the part that you want?  If so, if you can download the route then there are on-line GPX editors which will allow you to do that. Or are you looking for something different?

  • I know I exported files last year.  Went to do it again today and the option to export an individual ride/event is no longer there.  What happened?

Instead I found the "bulk export" option on my profile settings and have tried that.  Hopefully I get the email for it.

    Thanks

  • To be clear, I am simply trying to export my biometric and time data.  FOr the moment I'm not interested in the location data

  • FOUR YEARS later and still no movement on this. BUT, we did get fancy new "premium" tiers for features that aren’t there. Yes!

  • I need this feature too - to export segments without timing information, to be used as navigation support.

  • WOW no resolution for this, what is the value of premium then?  We paid for DATA!!! let me get my DATA!!!!! :)

Strava needs to add these type of features to compete with other entities.

  • The solution seems to be very easy (surpricely)!

Every segment has been ridden by someone - you see it at the right side of the segment view ("Fastest Times"). Click on someone traning date (it indicates the time and date when someone has made this segment). You will "transfer" into the traning where you can download track as GPX. Of course you will download whole trainig, but with GPX file we can very fast edit to get segment part.

I home I've helped someone with this horrible issue.

  • Soooo, nearly 5 YEARS later (from first post) and still no option for segment download. This is nuts! Obviously this is by design. Just wondering why...most likely something to do with lawyers and risk...always does. Another reason NOT to renew my premium membership. Helloooo Strava, are you listening?

  • A solution is to make a route yourself that just involves the segment. From this you can export a GPX-file.

  • Find your segment on Strava, copy URL.

    Go to: https://www.doogal.co.uk/strava.php

Paste segement into search function, and then its just to download the segment as GPX.

But really poor by Strava to not just add a GPX button for the segements, just lazy.

  • Requested in 2014, completely makes sense, yet strava COMPLETELY F*ING IGNORES IT.

Do you guys add any, ANY,  *ANY AT ALL*  new features for athletes or is it just about becoming the next facebook? I guess it's all about being the next facebook.

  • Was also searching for this and then I saw it was already there. Only for the segments you already did and with the Elevate Add-on in Chrome.

In the list of segments of your activity, click on a segment. Under your segment-time, there is a button "Export this Segment Effort to your gps", then you can choose TCX or GPX.

  • Hey Wim, it really defeats many purposes to do this for segments one did. If I did it, I know where I am going. I think the original request was for any segment, including, and especially the ones one did not do yet. Not to mention that your solution requires a chrome add-in as well. So thanks, but NO THANKS Strava.
